SKThe owner is very helpful and really cares for his customers. The place is located in a beautiful area, surrounded by rice fields and mountains. I very much enjoyed my stay.
USAccommodation was basic but cheap. The owner is lovely. Good water pressure and AC. Nice view from the property. Location is a bit far but they offer motorbike rental onsite which is convenient.
This room is not pictured on the listing. It would be helpful for guests to know what they’re booking before arriving and being surprised at how vastly different this room is compared to the ones pictured. The bed was very uncomfortable, springs digging into our backs. There were lots of holes in the walls/gaps between the walls and ceiling so we had quite a lot of bugs in the room. It looks as though this room is unfinished. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, we weren’t offered anything, we were just given a small plate of fried rice with egg. No coffee or juice offered. Overall it was okay but i would recommend going for the more expensive “family room” as it looks a lot better.
GBOne of the best stays yet. Huy and his sister were so accommodating and couldn’t do enough for us. The homestay is gorgeous and a little out of the way so you can just gaze out over the rice fields.

GBGBAs someone who likes peace and quiet this is a PERFECT location. It’s in the middle of a small collection of houses a good 10-minute drive from Phong Nha central town. There are so many beautiful paths to walk around in the area and a small convenience store run out of someone’s house nearby if you want a late-night snack. The view of the mountains is stunning. There is a very social atmosphere at meal times, most people eat together. The bed was comfortable and an extra blanket was provided when it was cold. The host also helped me book a taxi to the train station for a good price.
It’s marketed as a home-stay but it’s really a house converted into multiple rooms (more like an Airbnb). The host does not live on the property. The host is also very adamant about selling you tours from the moment you arrive and keeps dropping hints to pay for this or that tour, and to upgrade to a ‘better’ room. I understand some salesmanship but this was overwhelming and became annoying very quickly. The bathroom in my room had no drain in the floor so within one minute of turning on the shower the whole room (including the toilet!) was flooded. There was an open hole instead of a window in the wall which meant a lot of bugs could come in at night. It’s far enough away from the popular attractions that you would definitely need to either rent a bike or motorbike - this wasn’t an issue for me but for other people it might be challenging. The ‘breakfast’ was included in the price so I didn’t expect much: banh mi one morning, pot noodles in a bowl the next. Fruit is not provided and you need to pay for any water or coffee.
