Butter Hotel

I have stayed at Butter Hotel 2 years in a row now and it just keeps getting better! Their updates for this season have been amazing, the hotel is warm, cozy, there’s a coffee/ tea nock upstairs that’s 24/7, the rooms have been upgraded and are so clean and comfortable! Washing machine free for use, and don’t even get me started on the breakfast, unreal!! THEN there’s the restaurant, the heart of the hotel, where everyone comes to talk about their day, eat amazing food and some healthy competition with the pool table! Jamin Rentals is just down the stairs, it’s an absolute unit of a place you really couldn’t ask for more! I can’t recommend this place enough, truly a home away from home.

Although it comes with staying in a hostel, it sometimes can get little noisy. But quiet after quiet hours.

Decent location - 3 min walk to the closest lift - onsens 10min walk, few restaurants nearby, although this becomes more limited after 6pm. 2 pillows, good mattress, duvet, pressure in showers, clean and modern. Staff are very attentive and friendly, cheery - clearly enjoy their job, and it helps create a nice environment in the accommodation. Free drinking water, tea and coffee - and use of the washing machine - pickup and drop off. Breakfast is filling and varied - eggs, sausage or bacon, cereal, toast, yoghurt, tea and coffee - i even got some salt and PEPPER! Gear rental shop below, with lots of new high-quality gear and fantastic service from the highly experienced and knowledgeable staff. Again, staff clearly like working there. Shout out to Scotty - he clearly does know!! Also have good coffee available until 1 pm. Great stay all in all!

The breakfast is good, but on some days the options were a little less, as some options had ran out - i understand some guests may take too much and then after making more, potentially it goes to waste - Breakfast finishes at 9am - but I recommend getting there before 8.15 to have the full selection. It would be nice to have oj aswell as apple juice. Another space for quests to relax outside their room or the bar would be nice - maybe at the end of the corridor where there is less foot traffic than the chairs in the nook.

-Super close to Cortina and Norikura Resorts and the pass gets you access to both. -Room was clean and bed was comfortable -Staff were lovely and helpful -Rental store down below so you don’t have to trek to far to get ya ski gear -Breakfast included was elite (toast, cereal and eggs) especially for the price of the accommodation -Bathrooms were clean

Bit of a hike to get to any other ski resort but there is a bus A bit out of Hakuba but still the town was peaceful
