Entabeni Mountain Lodges

The location was so good, the landscape was beautiful and the drives were so nice, we did 2 drives a day, we also did a bush walk. We had good time

The food was not good at all, the services were bad no variety of beverages, the drains of the shower didn’t work and the toilet was running all day, and I have to ask the staff many times to get the things sorted. We had dirty towels the first day and I had to wait for the second day till they changed it !!

In the middle of the bushveld, quiet and enjoyed the game drives a lot.

I think the lodge needs maintenance, especially the wooden decks to the lake.

Food was good, service was ok, game drives were good, we saw a lot of animals, rooms were comfortable, were helped out nicely with gasoline shortage in our car.

Breakfast and dinner was quite bad and not up the standard. Lunch was OK. It is as if the place got stuck somewhere 40 years ago and did not move with the times and the expectation of modern guests.

Other than the food, the game drives were a rush. It takes 45 minutes to get down from the mountain to the area where the Big 4 (excluding leopard) roam, and then 45 minutes back again, leaving little time for game viewing. Once at the bottom it became a chase to find them. Our guide was on his own mission and communication was limited. His knowledge might impress international guests with no knowledge of the bush, but if he had the knowledge, as he should have with 25 years of experience, he did not share it. The walking safari was unplanned, what was supposed to take two hours, lasted just over an hour, and other than a nice walk in the early morning, was a big disappointment. The staff really tried their best, but there does not appear to be any guidance from anyone that understands hospitality (even though there is a "hospitality school" on the premises. The staff seems depleted, unmotivated and unenergetic.
