Riad Arambys

There was nothing not to like. This is a very special Riad with wonderful proprietors. We couldn't have been more pleased with our choice in Essaouira.. We will definitely return to Arambys.

The riad is amazing, very close to the market, restaurants and everything you need. The staff is nice and helpful especially the old lady in charge of the hoitel and breakfast.

We loved absolutely everything about Riad Arambys. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms were spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable and large and the breakfast was delicious. The Riad is extremely central but also quiet and peaceful. We thought it was amazing value for money and would recommend staying here if you get the opportunity.

Access to the Townhouses/Riads in the pedestrian zone of the medina of Essaouira is pretty adventurous. The blue (petit) taxis (for 7 Dirham) are taking you to the periphery of the pedestrian zone, and then you are meeting a service person with a one-axle trailer, who will put your luggage inside, and walk with you (usually less than 500 m) to the entrance of the Riad. From the outside, these Riads look rather uninspiring, but once you step inside, you will be treated to a wonderfully decorated---with authentic Moroccan artifacts---interior, and the Riad Arambys is a pretty large one. It has a cozy seating area at the lobby level, and the rooms have junior-suite dimensions and furnishings. The family has impressed me with a great sense of hospitality, and they even bought my CTM bus ticket for me---which I had arranged for through communication prior to my arrival---so that I could depart for Casablanca, in accordance with the selected travel itinterary. Plus, they arranged for the trailer person to take my luggage again, and walk me to a blue (petit) taxi, in order to get to the CTM station. Breakfast is served at the upper-level breakfast room with plenty of tables to accommodate all guests simultaneously by the kind & elderly lady who is owning the Arambys and is also managing the guest bookings, along with her sons. There is also a terrace with reclining chairs for those you want to take a sunbath there, while enjoying the panoramic views

Be prepared to shower with cold water; I turned the warm-cold mixer lever all the way towards the warm side, but only cold water was emerging. Yet, that also happened to me at a 4-star hotel in Casablanca, so that this is NOT a CRITIQUE, but simply a statement of fact. The owner stated that a TV will be installed at the cozy lobby room for those who wish to watch news programs, etc. Normally the Riads do not have TVs in the guests rooms...

Breakfast on the terrace was superb, eggs cooked to order, beautiful freshly cooked pancakes - and English tea if you wanted it !. The lady of the house was so lovely, making sure we were looked after at all times. The Riad is beautiful, with the most comfortable beds ( and pillows!) that we had in our whole trip. It is right in the medina, close to everything, and a true oasis of calm. I would absolutely stay here again if we return to Essouraia.

Amazing! Loved everything about it. Staff were super friendly, rooms were so lovely. Lots of cute cats! Breakfast every morning was great. Can’t recommend highly enough as somewhere to enjoy a holiday in Essaouira!

We ended up staying for 2 weeks and couldn’t have enjoyed ourselves any more. Fatima is such a gracious host, you truly feel like a guest in her home while staying there. The rooms are big, fresh towels daily if you want them, the breakfast is delicious and varied. Just an excellent relaxing stay. Thank you.

Nothing. They do have well behaved cats that don’t go in the rooms but can be in the common areas. Not a problem for us but others might disagree.

Excellent stay, with a lovely spacious room and wonderful breakfast. Staff were all very friendly and it was quiet too. Added bonuses were the much needed welcome mint tea and cats!
