Yuzawa house

Very clean, close to transport, and lots of shops and restaurants. Easy check in and check out.

Onsite Onsen was great for morning and night dip to sooth the aches and pains gained in the mountains

Slightly out of the town centre area but no big deal

We stayed for 4 nights. Location was excellent, easy walk from the train station even with snowboarding bags. We were able to arrive late in the evening direct from Narita airport and use the location to start our holiday in Yuzawa. The self check in was seamless and easy to follow. We never saw any staff during our stay. We had a room on the third floor at the top of the stairs, and while you could hear movement in the hall it was quiet and our fellow guests were respectfully quiet too. Yes the newish condition tatami did have a smell, but did not bother us. Our room was a corner room and we have snowy views out 2 sides. It was comfortable and warm and we slept well. We loved our room. There was no communal guest lounge and the only communal space was the small cafe for breakfast. Tea and coffee was always available. Shared toilet and 'powder room' sinks in the halls met our expectation. Yes the bath is small, but did not disappoint. It met my expectation having stayed in similar places with similar sized bath before. Fresh towels were delivered in a bag to our doorway part way through our stay which was nice.

The breakfast was very basic, small, and repetitive. Wasn't that great to be fair. It would put me off staying longer here. I ate it cos I paid for it with our booking, but could easily have just gone for conbini food. A basic 'bento' we heated to eat. The concept in keeping with no apparent staff onsite is good solution, however there is room for improvement and variety!! (Or just don't offer it and hear of disappointment or receive a bad review)

The breakfast did not have any vegan/vegetarian options. Please offer the choice for guests. The bath ceiling was dripping. Also the water wasn't hot enough. Please be clear on Parking facility and nearby parking options. Adjacent parking can accommodate 3 cars but some smarties blocked the entire parking, that rude.

The shared shower space is really small
