Hotel Mansion Tarahumara

The room was very spacious and comfortable with outstanding views. The staff went out of their way to please us. The meals were delicious with great service. Victor and Arianna were outstanding hosts.

The view from the outside of the room was lovely if you pay for the room at the very top of the hill but you can’t see the view from your bed inside the room.

The reception is at the bottom of the hill and the rooms with a view are at the top of the hill overlooking The Valley. Okay if you are younger but not really great if you are older people with less mobility. There is no wifi in the rooms unless you are at the reception or in the dining hall a good 5min walk up or down a large flight of stairs and at 125 euro per night this is not budget pricing wifi should be in the rooms. The rooms overlooking the canyon have no chairs on the terrace so it’s a lovely view but there is nowhere to sit to look out and if you take the chairs from inside the room to sit out on the terrace the local dogs come and bother you. No curtains on some of the windows so the sunlight comes through at around 7.30am.

Helpful staff, good food, comfortable room

It was a quiet, peaceful property. I liked watching the sunset from my porch. The staff is very friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Great transportation pick up and drop off. It’s not too far of a drive from the Adventure Park. The room had been cleaned (floors, bathroom area). Large king bed. Very large room.

The food was mediocre at best and overpriced, especially dinner. It was food that was more thrown together on the plate like you would at home, and not paying attention to presentation or quality of ingredients. That’s fine at home or when you’re hosted at someone’s house, but not at a hotel. Although they’d cleaned the sheets at some point, the blankets were dusty, and a white pillow case had small blood stain on them. Maybe using bleach would’ve helped? It was a very stiff bed. I love firm mattresses, but this was too stiff for me. The water pressure was low and the hot water ran out after about 30 seconds. I take five minute showers, so it was noticeable. I know this was a cabin, but for the US prices in Mexico, I expected more attention to detail and comfort. I grew up in both the US and Mexico, so I’m also not at all expecting everything to be the same in Mexico, or anywhere in the world for that matter, as it is in the US. That’s just not how it works.

Very nice hotel with a fantastic view and lovely staff. It is a kind of resort and the rooms are spread across the hillside, what you should know, if you have any kind of problems with walking. They drive you to your room by car, but the superior rooms with the fantastic canyon view can only be reached via steps. Breakfast is very rich. Tours can be booked at the reception. The staff is very friendly and keen to answer every question and support whenever they can.

WiFi only near to reception and restaurant - in my room I could use the one from the hotel in the neighbourhood ...
