The apartment felt very Japanese with tatami matting and floor seating. It was cleaned halfway through our four day stay which was great. Convenient location, and fairly quiet. Easy to find the reception and a free taxi took us to the apartment after check in. Key card return was located within the apartment.

A very steep staircase, which we had been warned about. We were just very careful, especially at night (we left a light on!). It had a hand rail, so wasn't too bad.

We really enjoyed the traditional Japanese style of the house, which made the stay feel unique and authentic. The property is very spacious for Japan and was perfect for our family with two teenagers. The facilities were excellent, well-equipped and very clean. The location worked well for us — about a 30-minute walk to the center, with convenient public transport options nearby. The area was quiet, and we had no issues with noise or light. The check-in process was smooth, and we appreciated the free taxi transfer from the check-in location to the house.

The stairs to upper floor are quite steep, which might be challenging for some guests, although it wasn’t an issue for us. The beds were okay but could be a bit more comfortable.

An amazing renovated Machiya, very clean and has plenty of space across two floors. Nespresso machine was a nice touch! Staff were brilliant and also made us feel very welcome. Both the reception and the house smelled lovely with a pleasant sandalwood scent

A bit out of centre, but is not really an issue as there is a metro station 10min walk, and taxis are available
