"Great location, good value. Great service from owner/operator."

8.0

The location was great and parking a rental car was pretty easy there. Very easy to walk to the central area.

The property could use a refresh on the furniture and fit-out as they are a bit worn and dated. The bathroom had a washer/dryer once but it is now empty.

The overall apartment is nice with a practical kitchen and a comfortable bed. The location is close to the center, so it is very convenient for tours and to enjoy the city. The bathroom was clean and tidy!!

The host was not reachable: I had to contact booking.com for a resolution, meaning the host was forced to respond to my messages or else I would have been relocated somewhere else. Then I had to ask for a phone to a hotel nearby as the host was not answering. He confirmed my check-in, but neither informed me it was from 4pm nor gave me in general information how to enter the apartment. There is NO washing machine and the jacuzzi was closed

Location was excellent! Very sweet garden patio with hot tub. Very clean with lovely dishes and design.

I was told I could check in at 1 pm, but I arrived, with the code, which did not work. I found the woman who was cleaning and she said the place would be ready at 2 pm. I was able to get in then, but only with a code that she had. She was surprised that my code did not work. If I had not met her, there was no way I would have been able to get into the apartment, as I didn't have a working cell phone. The apartment did not have instructions for accessing the wifi, nor was this sent to me in an email. The place was cute and tidy enough, although a little overpriced. There was also no way to lock the apartment from the inside, which made me nervous traveling alone. If I had the key access that the cleaning woman had, then surely others must have this code as well.

"It's good for 1 night stay."

7.0

It is accessible to travellers with big, heavy, or multiple luggages, the accommodation is on ground floor, just like entering someone's apartment/ house. The location kberall (the neighbourhood) is indeed quiet to an extent sometimes according to the host. It's really well equipped, from kitchen area, simple dining area and living area, to the bathroom, and the bed. The bathroom is very big. Dry toilet and wet shower stall are next to each other, divided up by a glass in between, and there's just that whole empty space in the bathroom as well, more than eno6slace to stretch out and change outfits.

There will be no privacy protection if you want your curtains up, since it's only 1 layer, and right outside it's the pedestrian streets, with people passing by, cars parked all along, no matter local residents, or gusets staying in nearby apartments or guesthouses. It is occasionally disturbing when pedestrians passes by for seconds outside, and you can hear them because the windows are open. And most importantly, there will be loud airplane noises, since it's located quite close to the Reykjavik Domestic Airport. To my objective perspective, there's also just not enough lighting to light up the space. There's more dim lights to serve the mood and vibe, then those to serve functioning brightness to the living area.

Overall, our stay at the studio in Reykjavik had its pros and cons. On the bright side, the location was excellent, just a stone's throw away from the city center, making it convenient to explore the vibrant streets and attractions. The studio itself was charming and cozy, perfect for a couple's getaway. Despite these drawbacks, the studio was surprisingly warm, almost uncomfortably so, even with the heater turned off. On a positive note, the responsible person overseeing our stay was friendly and responsive. While there were certainly aspects of our experience that could be improved, the location and charm of the studio were undeniable highlights.

We were disappointed with the cleanliness of the premises. The floors were noticeably dirty, and surfaces seemed neglected, covered in dust. The hot water had a strong, unpleasant odor reminiscent of traditional geysers in Iceland, which was quite off-putting. To add to our discomfort, the occupants of the top floor seemed to be engaging in activities, possibly even renovating, well into the night. Their noise level was disruptive, keeping us awake until the wee hours of the morning, which greatly impacted our overall experience.

"A situation that turned into something great"

7.0

This was our last stay on the trip to Iceland. We had a situation where we booked the room a day before our arrival. The check in started at 14:00, we were on the way and at 16:00 we have received a text message that there was a glitch in the system and the place had been overbooked and we need to cancel the reservation. As seeing from other reviews and the reviews of the Guesthouse, that this studio is a part of, this is something that is happening very often. We did not cancel the reservation as we had no place to stay. We called the host and he apologised and helped us book another accommodation and bared the costs of the new apartment. This was very nice of him as we ended up having a great last night in Reykjavik despite the inconvenience. From what we saw the guesthouse is located very close to Reykjavik Rainbow street. A bit shame that we couldn’t stay at this studio but overall it turned out great, and a huge thank you to the host for helping us out. Of course we understand that such things happen, but in the end we got the other accommodation with the same standard (private kitchen, private bathroom).

We didn’t get the chance to see the property. For the future please try to better manage the airbnb and booking as well as other platforms.

Location was amazing, downtown Reykjavik is about 8-10 mins walking and the furthest tour bus stop is only about 20mins walk. The price is a little high but we saved a lot of money by using the excellent kitchen facilities vs eating out everyday, it’s also about a five min walk to a decent grocery store. The host was good at replying to messages. Bathroom is huge and shower is amazing.

There was an issue with the heating, was fixed halfway through our stay by the host, but it did make the first few days uncomfortably hot in the room. There is no washing machine as listed in the description and the hot tub that was listed first was super dirty and without any water so we was unable to use this although we had been assured by the host it would be available for our stay.
