Very cool place to relax, 100m from the beach and walking distance from the animated area of La Punta. The host is amazing and will gladly give you all the tips you need

On the positive side, the location was good, the check-in was easy, and the vibe of the place was promising. The hostess was nice to talk to and responsive.

We booked the budget room at Casa Malayah based on the positive rating we saw online, but we were very disappointed when we arrived and decided to leave on the first night and find another accommodation. We now know why the pictures only showed the bed: the door led right onto the street and the wall was made from plywood without windows, with big gaps to the street. Although the area seemed safe, we stayed in many other accommodations nearby and all of them had barbed wire and heavy locks. However, the main issue with the place was that we found several cockroaches in and around the bed as well as in the bathroom. While it is understandable that cockroaches are common in this climate, we did not encounter them in any other place we stayed at similar price points. Moreover, previous comments we later found suggested that this had been an issue at the place for a while. After finding another accommodation, we notified the host about the problem. To her credit, she told us she would have fixed it, but let's face it - cockroaches are not removed overnight and she had told us no other rooms were available. She offered to look for a replacement and refunded us 50% of the night she could rent out. We hope the cockroach issue is resolved soon and the place can make everyone feel comfortable.

Location was everything - close to the beach and very easy to move around. We were very blessed to find a place that accepted our large dog and the host made sure she was comfortable. The rooms were comfortable for our short stay. Also, if you ask for recommendations, the host will direct you to awesome places.

Big bed and it's around a three minute walk from the sea. Spend a lot of time on decor. Theres a outside kitchen, that's all a little dirty, but can be used.

Only dissapointing experience in a month of traveling through Mexico. Left after one night. Five minutes after walking in we were greeted by coackroaches running around on the floors, walls and ceiling around the bed. The bathroom is old, tiny and the shower was missing a part, which made the water come out as just one stream, which basically made it feel as if you were showering under a gardenhose. Theres no way to decide the temprature of the water. It is either only hot water if the boiler is full, or only cold when it is empty. It's close to the sea, but theres not much else going on in the area, its a little rough. It's a bit of a walk to la punta (the area with the restaurants and nice beaches). For what you get here you're better off getting a private room at a hostel in punta. Regarding the host, she pretends to be your best friend, until the moment you mention anything critical and she turns into really unpleasant and passive argessive preson (as displayed in her previous response to negative reviews here on booking) and starts to personally insult you. She also says she'll make sure you get the regular price from the locals etc. But meanwhile overcharges you for trips she'll offer to book you. (She said she'd book us a trip with her 'friend miguel' for 800 pesos pp, we would pay her directly and she'd pay him for us. After we left the person at our new place booked us the exact same trip with the same guy for 600, which is the regular price everyone pays). Also: - The gate smells like dog pee, but thats probably common in pet friendly places - There were almost full trashcans on the propery that didnt close properly, so thats probably where the cockroaches were coming from.

Great host, very helpful and friendly. Organised dolphin tour for us, a bike, gave us recommendations on where to eat and what to do. Nice vibe with the people whom stay there, kitchen facilities available if you want to do your own cooking. Useful to get a bike so that you can get around or find a taxi man you can trust to take you around.

The shower wasn't to strong. Overall was simple but appropriate for what we were paying and great vibes. There were some cockroaches in the room but were able to get rid of them.

We had such a great stay here! As so many of the other reviews have said, Yas makes you feel instantly at home and can give you great recommendations for activities or places to check out. We ended up extending our stay because we were enjoying ourselves so much. Theair con worked well. Private bathroom and a communal space to cook/hangout if you please. Yas was super responsive via WhatsApp and also flexible with check in/check out. Highly recommend staying here!

Spacious, clean and cozy room in Zicatela, the manager is super friendly and took care of a everything! I would definitely like to stay here again!
