When you arrive at Casa Malayah, you will immediately be welcomed warmly with open arms and made to feel like you are part of a family. Or, depending on your room type, you can have complete privacy and have zero interaction with the host or other guests. So choose your room type with that information in mind. The owner has gone to great lengths to design a funky-simple space to welcome travelers from all around the world. This accommodation is not suitable for anyone and everyone, so I think that level of transparency is important to manage expectations. If you're not a fan of dogs--consider booking a different place. If you want to be right in the middle of Zicatela action--consider booking somewhere,. If you want a 5 star resort experience--consider booking a different place. If you don't like dealing with an invasion of bugs--keep looking, fellow traveler. lf you're a surfer and want to book a good value place without the bells & whistles, look no further. If you are a ultra chill earthy barefoot traveler and are welcome to local recommendations & overall a mini-community: book it, now!

Again, this is about managing expectations. Things that I wish that I personally knew before booking: -Do you like to shower with soap? Do you like to properly wash your hands after a trip to the bathroom? Yes, I thought you might. Soap is not provided (neither hand soap nor body soap), so you will need to bring your own or search for a store to buy it upon arrival -Hot showers are unavailable -You should bring mosquito repellent or you'll be eaten alive. -You should be prepared to share your living space with many dogs -Some guest rooms don't lock and the main gate stays unlocked at all times, so not exactly Fort Knox. Therefore, if you're wary about your belongings while in Mexico, or about your own security, this is something to consider before booking here. But! It is generally very quiet and I had zero safety incidents during my short stay.

The property is beautifully decorated and rooms with aircon were available. There's also a communal space with kitchen and chillout area. The host, Yesmin, was very responsive and happy to help with local recommendations and details of tours.

Casa Malayah is located in a quiet part of town, a little removed from both La Punta and Centro; this means a bit of a walk (in the high temperatures) if you don't have your own transport or taxi. Something to consider also for the evenings.

Had a room with air conditioning, which was really nice! For me the location was perfect, super close to the beach, max. 10 min walk from la punta but very calm in the night. Very nice host, who took care of everything and gave good recommendations. It’s also possible to rent a motorbike for really cheap. And there are two cute dogs :)

We loved our stay a lot. The owner is very relaxed and helped us with everything.

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Malayah. The host was really nice and welcoming and helped us out with a lot of stuff and prepared coffee in the morning for everyone. It’s a nice, quiet area, you can easily walk to the beach and the restaurants of La Punta. Yez had some awesome tipps for us, to drive to secluded beaches or for some good restaurants. We would definitely book a room in Casa Malayah again!!

Everything about my stay at Casa Malayah was amazing. Yez is an incredible host and makes you feel at home. The bed was so comfortable, the room really dark, and AC worked well - it was the best I had slept in weeks. My room was so clean and new and had the cutest, homey touches that made it really special. The kitchen had everything I needed and I spent a lot of time just hanging out in the hammocks in the backyard. The wifi worked well enough for my video calls for work. Yez and Geffin were so kind and welcoming, gave me all of the recommendations I asked for. I felt like I could have stayed here much longer than the 6 nights I did. Also they were so great with my dog Lilah and the two dogs there!! 10/10 recommend to stay here!

I arrived quite late at night and they received me super well and made me feel like home. It was a really pleasant stay.

Made to feel like home as soon as we arrived. Perfect location, so close to the beach and in walking distance to the main bar & restaurants but on a quiet road. The host was so lovely, sorting us out with taxis and offering to help us whenever she could! She also has 2 beautiful dogs- which was a bonus for us! The whole vibe of the place is relaxed and friendly. All in all, so gutted we only found this gem on the last day of our stay in Puerto. Would definitely go back!
