Mekong Hotel

Good location and nice big rooms. The bed was comfortable.

Lots of odd noises at night. While the bed was comfortable it had an odd storage headboard that you couldn’t lean against and only 1 pillow each. There was a sofa in the room but it was very hard. The hotel lacked any soft/outside furniture where you could relax and enjoy the view. The 2 days we were there we didn’t see anyone using the restaurant.

Nice hotel in front of the Mekong

It's old and out dated, fridge is old and rusty. Bathtub is loose and rocking, thought the tube was going to tip over. No compliments coffee or hot water to make coffee for their guest. Shouldn't let guest smoking in the hotel with door wide open into the hallway and to other guest's room.

The place was nice and clean. Comfy but there are dogs barking so not suited for lightsleepers orherwise good!

The hotel was ok, comfortable enough, didn't expect too much, did the job, only stayed one night. the best thing about the hotel is it is located right on the mekong river and also not far from restaurants and bars. my friends and I bought a few beer laos and just sat on the banks of the mekong river opposite the hotel and watched the world go by.

The check was a nitemare, it took way to long, I think the girl was new as she didn't have a clue and it just took to lond

Location is great and wonderful views of the Mekong River across to Thailand. Breakfast menu is limited and odd, but okay.

NO CREDIT CARD FACILITY!!! This property is shonky. On arrival went to pay with my Mastercard. Receptionist said they can't accept cards as no manager on site for several days. They demanded cash only and wanted a higher USD amount than the booked rate. We only had local currency so they wanted 2.5 million kip which was a 400000 kip overcharge. This depleted our cash reserves as we hadn't expected to pay cash. The room advertised was meant to have a bath and flat screen TV but we didn't get them. When we complained about the room type the receptionist eventually conceded the room type we booked (months ago!!) was fully occupied so we got a lower room type. Promised upgrade the next day but this never occurred. The room was filthy, smelt and you could hear animals in the roof / walls. The bed was hard and we got no sleep. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!

Low cost

Breakfast.. the only vegetarian option was fried eggs. They did come with fresh bread which was nice
