Aloka Penida

This is a quiet gem on the eastern shore. The location is magnificent. There are lovely breezes all day long. The views are all around from lush mountains to the glorious ocean, especially from the tables on the cliffs edge. There are only 5 bungalows so it feels intimate and soothingly restful. You couldn’t ask for a better spot for the restaurant. The jazz music was a perfect relaxing accompaniment to the meals. There are very good breakfast choices with fresh squeezed orange juice. I enjoyed the scrambled eggs on fresh, hand-baked (?) brown bread and the banana pancakes. The green curry dish and the grilled chicken dish were both delicious for lunches. The room and bathroom was spacious with a nice deck to sit out and watch the scenery by day and the stars by night. Good WiFi throughout the property. Getting there is tricky but I took the recommendation of the hotel and the driver expertly handled winding steep narrow potholed roads. It did cost 400,000R both ways to get there but so worth it. This is a great place to get far away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of Penida and Bali.

I’m sorry that they didn’t have mango juice or desserts! But this is a small thing. They could use a water dispenser in the restaurant to save on plastic bottles and allow one to replenish throughout the day. Perhaps sometime they’ll create paths to make walking around near the property easier. Again, something that could make an excellent stay even better.

I wish the air con works better during the day coz it was very hot. And there is no electric kettle in the room. The road to the villa is very challenging but it already stated in the booking site.

The view to diamond beach is really the best thing about this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they tried to accommodate us the best way they could.

Very remote location with difficult access, there is not shuttle provided to go to the beach and only one scooter was available to rent but the road is very bad there drive scooter anyways. Also the food was not very good.

Rooms were very clean and maintained properly. The staff and their hospitality was really good. The view was absolutely stunning! You can go back to this place just for the view and the way the rooms were kept.

Location - amazing views

Access to the property It’s a literal goat track - don’t bother going to the hotel after sunset or in the rain. Getting out in the morning - it was raining and our driver asked us to get out and push - as road was mud Kitchen / food not great either Bring food with you as nothing else expect for kitchen for food

The view from this hotel was absolutely breathtaking! 🤩 It was a bit tricky to get to, but it was definitely worth the effort. The staff were incredibly friendly and made our stay very enjoyable 😊

Breakfast was good and sufficient. Location is truly outstanding and unique.

Dinner portion was small, missing fries with the fish & chips. Welcome drink was not cold. Would be nice to have a pool up there.

amazing view to Diamond Beach and the Sea. Room was very nice and well equipt. Bathroom was functional and clean, but the window is too small. The food in te restaurant is very good.

AirCon in the room makes strange and loud sounds and sometimes stops cooling after few hours. Food and drinks in the restaurant are much too expensive and the breakfast is to small. Behind the buildings is a lot of rubbish and untidy. The access to the place is difficult (impossible for cars and bumpy for motorbikes)

The people, the place, the view- everything was AMAZING!

Nothing to dislike- book it!!!
