GUVANO Apartment

The apartement was very nice, located on the first floor of an apartement building at abusy street. It was very clean and the windows kept the noise outside. Cristina the host comunicated with us through WhatsApp and told us about Check-In and important stuff. She welcomed us very friendly for Check in and sent us some recommendations for restaurants in La Spezia. We couldn't leave our luggage at Check-Out as there were other guests arriving but the host told us about a Stow and Go near the train station which was the perfect solution. For exploring 5 Terre it was perfectly located as it took 5 minutes to the train station (also Taxis to Portovenere go from there) and 20 minutes to the harbor for boat tours. The city center with lots of restaurants and shops was aprox. 10 minutes away.

Kitchen necessities are provided and there was a italian-coffee-machine to make coffee at the stove. Maybe a Nespresso Machine would be nice as it took some time to provide all the coffee needed by 4 adults. I would also suggest to add a waste bin at the second bathroom. Other than that everything was really wonderful.

Location was excellent, close to restaurants, the marina, train station and supermarkets. Very clean and well maintained. A warm welcome from Cristine who was very easy to communicate with. She allowed us early access to store our luggage. Beds were super comfortable.

Elevator not working, but room was on the first floor, so wasn’t too hard to get too.

Christina was a great host. She was extremely accessible and helpful. La Spezia is a great place to visit.

I did not like that while on booking.com it was mentioned that it had two bathrooms when we entered the apartment it had one bathroom and one WC. The result is that 4 people share a bathroom to bathe. Not even if we were in the army. Second thing I didn't like is that we found some used dirty slippers in the closet as well as a dirty mattress with hairs which I have taken and pictures for souvenir. Third and most importantly, I was disturbed by the behavior of the lady who owned the house. He was constantly pestering me with WhatsApp messages on my cell phone by strangely "reminding" me of the obvious. That is, not to make noise, not to have a party as if it was addressed to rioters when we had not given any rights. On the last day she has been texting me since 7am and waking me up to remind me check out is at 10am as if we gave her the impression that we don't understand or are mentally retarded. I don’t remember how many messages sent me on my mobile to remind me the obvious. She may have had bad experiences with other tenants and that's why he may have been overly stressed but you cannot operate like that. In this case don’t rent it so you don’t get stressed

It was clean and modern!

We weren’t allowed to use the lift because the owner apparently hadn’t paid the rates! Washing machine was also unavailable and the door locked because it too wasn’t working! Sounds like a little thing but when you’re on the road and travelling and walking a lot you deliberately rent places with a washing machine as there were 4 of us and lots of dirty clothes! They basically said too bad and then as an after thought later offered to reimburse us if we walked down to the laundromat and and do it there!! WARNING If the machine is still broken they send you to the laundry don’t go, the guy who runs the place is incredibly rude! It was an awful experience! AND the internet also wasn’t working! And it wasn’t until we said we wanted to leave and get a full refund that they relented and went out and bought a new modem!
