La famiglia che ci ha ospitati è stata fantastica, ci ha accolto calorosamente e ha fatto il possibile per farci sentire a nostro agio. Noi siamo andati a fare il safari con loro ed è stata un esperienza meravigliosa, Leel ha fatto davvero il possibile perché potessimo avere la migliore esperienza. La moglie è una cuoca eccezionale. Veramente una bellissima esperienza.

Very friendly staff. They parked our TukTuk in a safe spot. Near the Resort is a small lagoon. The son of the owner helped us to see an elephant while sunset and find crocodiles in the lagoon. It was right next to the entry of Wilpattu Nationalpark. We booked a safari with the son which we enjoyed a lot. We had fantastic breakfast, lunch and dinner. AC was working well.

Bathroom was a bit dirty. There were dark spots on the towels. The room has a funny smell which might come from the mosquito spray

Tolle und komfortable saubere Ferienhäuser im Wald, direkt am Nationalpark. Während unseres Aufenthalts kam zweimal nachts um ein Uhr ein Elefant durch den Garten spaziert. Wir haben ihn hinter der Gardine beobachtet und nicht fotografiert, um ihn mit dem Licht des Handys/ der Kamera nicht zu erschrecken. Er war so groß wie unser Haus. Es war super spannend. Sehr liebe und fürsorgliche Gastgeber mit tollem Frühstück und Abendessen. Auch die Safari mit dem Gastgeber war ein super tolles Erlebnis.

Struttura a gestione familiare. Camera molto semplice ma ottima posizione per il safari a Wilpattu, proprio all'ingresso del parco. Il personale cordiale e molto disponibile. Ci hanno organizzato il safari con jeep privata e ci hanno cucinato la cena al nostro arrivo, il rice and curry più buono mangiato da quando siamo qua, sono stati attenti a non cucinarlo piccante per nostra richiesta. Presenza di zanzariera sul letto ma comunque non abbiamo notato molte zanzare.

In camera odore di chiuso e di umido. Forniscono solo una saponetta.

Als je gewoon chill wil genieten van een safari in Wilpattu dan is dit zeker een goed adres. Op loopafstand van de ingang en een mooi meer in de buurt waar je dieren kan spotten. Het resort heeft de safari georganiseerd en die was uitstekend.

Het zijn echt huisjes zonder receptie of gemeenschappelijk gedeelte. Dat is prima voor een nachtje of twee.

Im September 2025 haben wir zwei Nächte im Mookalan Resort verbracht. Die Gastgeber sind sehr bemüht haben uns bei all unseren Anliegen geholfen. Eine ganztages Safari würde auch direkt von den Gastgebern organisiert und auch durchgeführt. In den 2 Tagen waren wir auch immer bestens versorgt und konnten den Aufenthalt sehr genießen. Abensessen im Resort direkt ist sehr zu empfehlen - sehr lecker und auf der Terrasse im Dschungel etwas besonderes. Die Betten sind angenehm und die Zimmer sehr sauber. Lage direkt am Eingang des Nationalparks perfekt. Wir sind am ersten Abend zum See vor der Unterkunft spaziert und konnten eine Elefantenfamilien beim Trinken beobachten. Insgesamt eine absolut empfehlenswerte Unterkunft. We spent two nights at the Mookalan Resort in September 2025. The hosts were very helpful with all our requests. A full-day safari was also organized and carried out directly by the hosts. During the 2 days we were always well looked after and were able to enjoy our stay very much. Dinner at the resort is highly recommended - very tasty and something special on the terrace in the jungle. The beds are comfortable and the rooms very clean, which is also a plus. Perfect location right at the entrance to the national park. We walked to the lake in front of the accommodation on the first evening and were able to watch a family of elephants drinking. Overall, an absolutely recommendable accommodation.
