Charming Bonfim Penthouse

My family have just returned from a wonderful 1 week stay at the Bonfire Penthouse apartment. It provided us with such a luxurious, comfortable and convenient base from which to explore Porto and the wider region of northern Portugal. Firstly the apartment is very clean and spacious (there were 5 of us staying there) and tastefully appointed with high quality and practical furniture and fittings and lovely toiletries. We were met on arrival to give us the run down on how things worked and where the local amenities were. The delicious pastries and bottle of wine on arrival were such a welcome treat too. Anyone who stays here will be so grateful for the convenience of this location. On either side of the apartment is a well-known Porto cafe serving delicious pastries to eat in or take away and is frequented by many locals for breakfast. On the other side is a renowned Portuguese restaurant and the metro station is directly opposite, which is 3 stops into the centre of town or 1 stop in the opposite direction to the inter-city train station that can take you to the surrounding cities in the region (and which we used a lot). If you have a car then they provide garage space on site too but we did not require this. A Lidl supermarket is also only 5 minutes away on foot.

There is nothing we did not like! It exceeded all our expectations.

Flat decor and facilities were very good. Welcome bottle of wine, tarts. Cafe next door for breakfast was excellent.

Truly charming and spacious apartment. The location is also very good - it is in a quiet part of the city, just two metro stations from the very centre (or some 15-20 minutes walk). Right next door there are a perfect restaurant and a bakery, plus a cocktail bar is just across the street.

Some of the window blinds were not working.

The Penthouse was everything we needed. Comfortable rooms and lots of space for 5 of us. It was just a few stops on the metro (which is opposite) to the centre. It was very clean.

There was a dog barking every morning which was a little annoying! Other than that no complaints.

The 2 single beds room is for children, and 2 adults may not feel comfortable with the bed

The penthouse felt like home and has a character and personal touch to it, which was breathtaking. We were warmly welcomed by Marcia, and other than an impressive tour of the apartment, she took time making recommendations of what to see and places to visit in Porto, including food recommendations. My family and I had a great stay at Bonfim and would definitely recommend it to others.

It was exactly like the pictures,very clean and very comfortable. Marcia was just a good and pleasant host, making sure we had everything with a list of recommendations for Porto and thoughtful with a welcome snack and wine. Place was new and very very clean. 2 sets of keys provided without having to request. Very thoughtful! The balcony was perfect too.

No complains!

This is a wonderful place. The apartment has everything you need, dishes, washing machine, dishwasher, coffee machine, etc. The rooms are located in a separate wing, so if someone occupies the living room, you will not be disturbed by noise. There is a garage for a car in the same house. All rooms have air conditioning. Several bathrooms. The owner is a very nice woman, always ready to help. You will be met and handed over the keys.
