Sekizenkan Kashotei Sanso

Everything about our stay at Sekizenkan was exceptional. The historic ryokan has been built upon with new, beautiful facilities and rooms that perfectly combine old and new. Our room was spacious, gorgeous, and thoughtfully fitted out with snacks, coffee, and teas. The private onsen was stunning, with a view of the forest surrounding the entire building. The staff were attentive and lovely, the check-in and check-out process was simple, travel to arrive and depart was straightforward, and every need was taken care of. I truly can't say enough positive things about this one-of-a-kind stay.

That I had to leave

This is an outstanding and unforgettable experience. We booked a Japanese style tatami room and we had our own onsen. They served our dinner in our room in a very professional and thoughtful way to make the experience special and authentically Japanese. The staff is very courteous and helpful. Amazing value for money. We did a hike to the Shima blue lake and enjoyed the town as well. There were options for good lunch outside the hotel.

The public onsens somehow show the age of the facility and can benefit from some maintenance.

Tout est exceptionnel, la suite avec baignoire privée, le personnel et l'emplacement. De plus la personne qui nous a accueillis a fait l'effort en parler en français et a fait preuve d'une grande gentillesse.

It was great to have our own in-room onsen. The food was delicious and beautifuly arranged. The staff was so professional and kind. This was one of the main highlight from our travel. At night, everything feels so magical. Inside the hotel it's like a labyrinth and I love it!
