"Nice town, basic accommodation."

4.0

The description of "The 30 guestrooms at Levanto Case Vacanza" sounds like a single hotel but I gather it is a series of properties around the town. We got dropped off by taxi at the office then a staff member had to walk us out to our room across the town square. No towels or linen provided so not great for a short stay. We ordered towels but they never arrived. Lovely location, Levanto. I could have stayed for a lot longer than the 2 nights we did but maybe in slightly more up-market accommodation. No air-con but big windows and balcony. Staff were fine to deal with.

"NON E' UN HOTEL E' UNA AGENZIA CHE AFFITTA CAMERE "

4.0

LUNEDI' 11/08/2014 IO E MIO MARITO SIAMO ARRIVATI A LEVANTO (SP) IN VIA JACOPO n.2 , PENSAVAMO DI TROVARE QUALCOSA DI SIMILE A UN HOTEL INVECE CI SIAMO TROVATI DAVANTI A UNA AGENZIA CHE AFFITTA CAMERE E APPARTAMENTI; VERSO LE 12,30 CI HANNO ACCOMPAGNATI ALLA CAMERA CHE SI TROVA IN UNA STRADINA DEL BORGO VECCHIO, UNA POSIZIONE MOLTO COMODA ANCHE ALLA SPIAGGIA. LA PORTA SI APRE SULLA STRADA, CI SONO DUE GRADINI E LA STANZA CON BAGNO E' UN AMBIENTE SEMI INTERRATO, UMIDO, CON UN FORTE ODORE DI MUFFA, C'E' UNA CASSETTIERA CHE E' INUTILIZZABILE TANTO E FORTE L'ODORE . C'E UN'ALTRA PORTA CHE ACCEDE A UN GIARDINETTO INTERNO COMUNE AD ALTRE CAMERE E/O APPARTAMENTI. DI NOTTE SI CHIUDONO LE PORTE E NON ESSENDOCI FINESTRE SI DORME CON LA PUZZA DI MUFFA. SIAMO RIMASTI FINO AL 16/08/2014, LA BIANCHERIA NON E' MAI STATA CAMBIATA E NON SONO MAI STATE FATTE PULIZIE. SPIACENTI MA RITENIAMO CHE NON CI SIA ASSOLUTAMENTE RAPPORTO QUALITA' PREZZO E NON CONSIGLIEREMO AD ALTRI QUESTO SOGGIORNO.

"Large apartment in great location"

10.0

We got a three bedroom/two bathroom apartment with sea-view and with the ocean breeze blowing through , just a 10 min walk to the beach and the center of Levanto. We had a very relaxed holiday. The bathrooms and furniture were old and there was no air-conditioning. However the large space and quiet location made this a great place to spend the holiday.

"Nice apt. close to beach"

6.0

We were 4 adults and thought we were getting 2 queen beds. The first apt. was lovely but had a queen bed and a set of bunk beds - not too comfortable for adults. They switched us to another apartment in a different area. It was situated over a bar and was very noisy until around 2 or 3 in the morning. Other than the noise, the apt was nice, clean and had a great location - very close to the beach. If it wasn't for the noise, I would have recommended this apt.

"DO NOT BOOK"

2.0

We booked this for its location—two blocks from the beach. We easily found the street but had much difficulty locating the place. We were looking for a hotel or apt. building whereas the address listed is just an office with no visible reference to Case Vacanza. Then we learned our unit was not two blocks from the beach as advertised. We had to walk our luggage another quarter-mile uphill. We realized it was not a hotel or a hostel when the receptionist instructed us on how to separate and take out the trash daily. This is a short-term apartment rental, though this site gives no indication that it is anything but a hotel. The hours of this office were inconsistent and limited. It may seem minor, but when you’re traveling and expecting little things (like toilet paper and soap) it’s not fun to use vacation time shopping for stuff you’ll barely use and could have brought had you known what to expect. The ugliest pictures on this site look nicer than what we got. It was hot and there was no AC, no fan, and no screens on the windows. The water heater did not work and we had to take freezing showers. Scroll to the end of the page (after repetitive info that makes one think it’s OK to stop reading fine print) to see that they charge for daily utilities (why not just add to the nightly rate?), linens, and cleaning (I objected to these because the GLASS SHARD IN THE BED that cut me indicated they hadn’t cleaned well, but they didn’t seem to care). Noisy neighbors; paper-thin walls.

It is NOT two blocks from the beach, as advertised. We walked the entire street twice before finding the place. We were looking for a hotel, but the address listed is just an office with no visible reference to Case Vacanza (with inconsistent and limited hours). Then we found out that we had to walk our luggage at least another quarter-mile up a hill and around a corner to our unit. We sensed trouble when the receptionist instructed us on separating and taking out the trash daily. That’s when it became clear it is not a hotel, but a short-term apt. rental, though the listing her gives no indication that it is anything but a hotel. That may seem petty, but when you’re traveling and expecting little things (like TP and soap) it sucks to waste your vacation time shopping for things that you could have brought had you known to. The worst photos on this site are nicer than our unit. The weather was hot and there was no AC, fan, or window screen. The water heater did not work, which took us a few days to figure out. It had been turned all the way down and even after fixing that it didn’t get warm. The neighbors made noise at all hours so we seldom got rest. Scroll to the end of the page to find the ridiculous extra charges: daily utilities, linens, and cleaning (they didn’t seem to care when I objected to this because the cleaners failed to catch the GLASS SHARD IN THE BED that cut me made me). This place is that it was not AT ALL what it was advertised to be on hotels.com.

"Huge apartment with sea breezes. "

8.0

We kept the gigantic windows open most of the time and enjoyed the breezes day and night. No Mosquitos, at least in late June when we were there. Nice views of the surrounding hills. There was a great little cafe downstairs, the Salty Dog, which served excellent coffee, croissants, and arugula salad. The apartment was right in town which meant it was easy to walk everywhere, including the train station and the ferry boat pier for accessing the five villages of the Cinque Terre. The apartment we were in needs some updating and the cook stove and washing machine, at a minimum, need instructions in English! But the cleanliness, price, spaciousness and location were couldn't be beat!

"Bewrtung Case Vacanz"

2.0

"Don't use this company. Horrible in every way."

2.0

This company is bad. I have traveled in 40 countries and stayed at 5 star hotels and youth hostels understanding the trade-offs of each type of place. This was probably the worst travel experience I had from check-in to check-out. --TV didn't work. --room next to an active church bell so couldn't sleep any night --several cracked tiles on the floor. --bed sheets were in a closet and we had to make our own beds --check in meant tracking down a random guy in the street since we arrived too late for a normal check in (6:30pm) --room was supposed to have a balcony it didn't --the room was in disrepair all around. beds- not comfy at all. levanto is nice, come visit but don't stay with this company. -

"Avoid at all costs"

2.0

Quite simply, this place is a completely overpriced dump run by a very unsavory man named Luca. For $150/night I had to make a special request for towels and linens, there was no ventilation system in the room (forget about air conditioning, there wasn't even a fan), so the only way to generate air movement was to open the window...which didn't have a screen, so I had to get used to the uninvited winged creatures I was forced to share my room with. To top it off, Luca tried very hard to charge me for damage to the room that happened prior to my arrival. A nightmare of an experience.
