Clean Hotel at the beach front. The staff was very nice, you could order drinks and food at the beach. We had very good ice cream. The breakfast was nice, could have had a bit more variety if you stay a few nights

When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised by a nice reception area with a very helpful young lady checking us in. We were shown to our room ( deluxe double no balcony) Very spacious, clean , excellent fan and air conditioning. Nice bathroom. Crisp sheets..tea and coffee etc. safe for valuables..probably one of the best appointed rooms we stayed in in Srilanka. Beyond reception there’s a very nice swimming pool, really clean and cool. Out onto the beach area there’s a little beach bar manned by very friendly staff. Good cold beers ! Out onto the sand there are sunbeds with a helpful chap to sort them out. When we left we had a later flight so they kindly gave us a late checkout.

Couldn’t understand why the sunbeds were all set back off the beach with maybe ten white tables and chairs blocking the view of the sea…nobody sat at those tables (no umbrellas).. the hotel needs to move the beds to the front. The path leading from reception and the pool to the beach was scruffy and never raked..with broken stones and rubbish on it and there was piles of old rubbish and glass between the hotel and the Lucky Tuna hotel. They seem to have a bit of a Tuk Tuk taxi rank right at the back of the hotel so 2 or 3 drivers lolling around …and this brings me to the fact all these guys are lolling around right beside the beach Shower…the manager either needs to move the shower or move the people…women and children are showering there and made to feel quite uncomfortable with these men sitting there a few meters away..all a bit creepy. Lastly, and this is probably down to poor training or just ignorance… although the reception staff, bar staff, chefs and helpful beach man were all friendly and helpful, there seem to be a lot of staff just lolling around outside , just sitting and on their iPhones…almost like they were customers.

Property on the beach. Big rooms and nice balconies. Rooms kept clean but could’ve used mosquito plug ins in the room.

Breakfast was included in my rate but below average. Offered only one option for juice: mixed fruit. A couple of pieces of lukewarm fruit were served as a “platter”. Toast came but the butter was frozen solid.

Stayed for 7 days at Tartaruga and we had an amazing experience. Right from the begining to the end Shyam was so hospitable, made us feel right at home. Very humble, polite and took great care off us. He was truly a great host. Staff also was amazing (Lucky/Budhini/Sohan/Milan) were the best, so friendly and always had a smile and very helpful Not forgetting Dumindar who drove us to 3 different excursions organised by Shyam This place felt like a home away from home Beach was amazing and at our doorsteps Absolutely enjoyed every moment at Tartaruga and would highly recommend this place.

Honestly nothing negative to talk about this place
