Seaside Hostel Malapascua

Clean. Location near the beach and port of entry/exit. Free drinking water.

Very compact room. Had booked the entire room, containing bunk bed for 2, so was okay. But for 2 people at same time it would be difficult I guess. No charging socket near the bed. No place /table to keep things plugged in for charging. No hot water for shower. No place to hang clothes in shower.

The balcony fronting the beach. Close to the port. The WIFI is fast.

Water used is salt water. Towels had to be rented ₱50 each for the entire stay. Another ₱50 if you wish to get another clean towel. The sewage goes directly at the beach. Reception isn’t open early but they do provide a number which you can call for emergencies. No TV. No heater. Weak water pressure.

Ideal location, next to the pier and close to a couple of dive centers. The area is relaxed but still at walking distance from the main attractions of the island

I was in room n.5, which has a bathroom facing the sea. Since there's a gap between the top of the wall and the ceiling it is possible for some thieves to snuck into the room, even if it's locked (they can jump in from the common area or from the rooftop of the adjacent building). I was lucky that nothing valuable was taken, but still the owners have to either install a grid on such gap (best solution) or make possible to lock the bathroom door from within the room
