Very nice house and property. A lot of space to chill on terrace. Friendly and helpful owners. Location is great, in a peaceful neighborhood 5 min walk from the main road.

There could be more furniture and hangers in the room and bathroom to put your stuff

Der Besitzer der Unterkunft ist sehr herzlich und hilfsbereit. Schon bei unserer Ankunft hat er uns persönlich vom Flughafen abgeholt und trotz unserer Verspätung geduldig auf uns gewartet. Vom ersten Moment an haben wir uns bei ihm sehr willkommen und bestens aufgehoben gefühlt – ein perfekter Start in unser Sri-Lanka-Abenteuer. Am nächsten Tag haben wir ein leckeres landestypisches Frühstück bekommen. Er stand uns mit Rat und Tat zur Seite und hat mit uns den Transfer nach Kalpitiya organisiert. Sein Engagement und seine Freundlichkeit haben unseren Aufenthalt besonders angenehm gemacht. Vielen Dank für alles – wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

Tout était parfait rien à dire. Le personnel gérant la gueshouse est très gentil et serviable. Il m'a aidé à trouver des épices avant mon départ et m'a appris à faire le coconut roti du Sri Lanka. Merci et à bientôt !

Beautiful house in a chill, safe location, yet close to the airport and to Negombo as well. Spacious, beautiful rooms, very nice common area and garden. Nissanka is extremely kind, welcoming host who will make you feel at home and happy to give you info about the country and tips for your trip. Super intelligent and interesting person as well to have a good conversation with. He will also make you a delicious breakfast. Amazing stay, thank you Nissanka!

Hele gastvrije familie, werd met open armen ontvangen en mocht zelfs mee eten in de avond! De kamer was erg comfortabel en goed verzorgd, dus heerlijk geslapen. Van te voren was het contact met de eigenaar ook erg fijn en hij heeft voor mij vervoer naar het vliegveld verzorgd. Erg fijn verblijf en zeker een aanrader!

Een stukje van Negombo af (15 minuten met tuktuk), dus wel vooral een verblijf plaats voor als je de dag erna moet vliegen.

Our stay at Airport Gateway Residence was a brief overnight one, arriving late at 11 PM and departing early at 7 AM. Locating the property in the darkness proved challenging, with closed gates adding to the difficulty. This resulted in an unexpected walk to find bottled water, as we were hesitant to use the provided tap water, despite knowing that Sri Lankan tap water is generally safe after boiling and filtering. The room itself was spacious but dusty, and we encountered several insects, including mosquitoes, lizards, and cockroaches. Additionally, we found there was no hot water available in the shower. A further inconvenience was the room's exclusive use of Type D electrical outlets, which prevented us from charging our devices. We also experienced a significant discrepancy regarding breakfast, as it was listed on booking.com as included, but was not provided. On the positive side, the residence's proximity to the airport is a definite advantage for those needing a quick overnight stay. The price is also quite affordable, reflecting the basic nature of the accommodations. The host was friendly and operates a cloth business, which may be of interest to guests. In summary, Airport Gateway Residence is adequate for a very short, budget-oriented stay close to the airport, but potential guests should be aware of the limitations regarding location in darkness, room conditions, amenities, and the discrepancy regarding the breakfast that was listed on booking.com.
