Vernice Backpacker Hostel

Nice & big roofed outdoor space with tables, benches and cooking facility, it served as a community space. Relaxed & easy atmosphere, everything could be arranged easy with the helpfull owner. Low budget, one of the cheapest hostels in town. Location was at easy walking distance from the most lively streets and the great evening food market in the Old town of Vientiane.

The beds were to hard

Large room, okayish bed. Calm neighbourhood.

Room was very dirty, only one bathroom for the whole hostel and it was dirty and with shower inside so worst. Everything was somehow broken, window was blacked out and not openable. We felt uncomfortable there and left as soon as we could. Trash outside. This is why it is cheap.

I didn't stay enough

Wonderful little hostel, great manager who is very helpful. Provides a kitchen area with plates and cups and also water.

Staff was very nice and helpful.

No Wi-Fi, huge cockroach and moths in room. Toilet was leaking and flooding. Couldn’t flush without letting water fill the back tank but had to put your hands inside to stop the water from overflowing and to drain the tank as there was no handle to flush. Beds were very stiff and firm. Hurt my back trying to lay on it. Very creaky frame when you sit or lay down on bed. Windows were painted shut so you can’t see the weather outside. Walls and windows were thin so you can hear everyone talk inside and outside the building.
