Ryokan Tenryu

The Ryoken is very near the Amagese Bridge that is across the Kusu River. The lady owner actually came forward to welcome us as we were crossing the bridge (maybe it was already 5.30pm and were expected to check in already). The room given is in the newly renovated section. It is so modern in the facilities provided - the toilet with a blow drier, the head of the bed that can sit up, 2 television sets with Youtube access. The nicest feature of the room (for me) was our private onsen bathtube. Dinner was lovely, so much effort had gone into it. The staff readily offered to take our photograph. The staff tried to explain to us in English what the courses were and gave us a simple written menu in English. Breakfast was just as beautiful experience as dinner. The lady owner asked us what train we were going to take after we checked out. They offered to drive us to the station. We declined as we wanted to take photos of the area before our train. We were greatful for the attention we received througout our stay there.

This is not a serious matter, just something that I experienced. I wanted to go out early in the morning to explore the area. Unfortunately, the main door was locked. It would have been helpful if I had know what times the main door would be locked / unlock and what I had to do if I wanted to leave the ryoken outside these times.

今回で二度目の宿泊ですが、前回同様スタッフさんたちがいい 笑顔も素敵やし声かけのタイミングもバツグンやし 夕食も朝食も大満足でした また泊まりたい宿です

2024年に改装されたとのことで、とても綺麗でした！ ロビーは本がたくさんあり雰囲気もあり、 最初に橋を渡って車を停めたときはすごいところに来てしまったかもと思いましたが😂、一気にテンションが上がりました！ お部屋も綺麗で広く、雰囲気もありとても良かったです。温泉も貸切も大浴場もとても気持ちよかったたです。 お料理もとても美味しく、鮎が食べられたのが嬉しかったです！どれも美味しかったのですが特にお米がおいしくて驚きました。 何より、宿の方々がとても気さくで親切でした！機会があればまた訪れたいと思います。

特にないですが、強いて言うならアクセスは大変です😂 その分静かでしたし、手前の由布院の宿は外国人だらけでしたが、こちらでは日本人しか見かけませんでした。静かさや落ち着きを求める方にはとても良いと思います。

スタッフさんにも、話しやすく浸し見やすい感じでとても居心地が良かったです。 お料理も美味しく食べられないぐらい用意してもらいとても満足です。

体の不自由な母を連れて行きました。 細やかな心遣いありがとうございました。 ご飯も美味しく、100歳のははがステーキ完食‼️
