I recommend staying at Villa Ricardo! Right after our arrival, Mrs. Rubina warmly welcomed us and showed us around the house and garden. The villa is very comfortable and can accommodate up to 6 people in great conditions. Three rooms upstairs, each with a separate bathroom and comfortable beds. The bedding and towels smelled wonderful! :) Guests have access to a swimming pool (you have to remember to let the hosts know in advance to heat the water), a spacious terrace and a living room downstairs. We also have a grill and a fireplace at our disposal. We also got a welcome treat (Madera wine, cake and cookies), which was super nice! We regret that we stayed there only for two days and not for our entire stay in Madeira.

We liked the villa. The host was very nice and helpful. The house has Almost everything you need. Being surrounded by the banana trees, and the woodwork inside make it cosy. The pool is big and has a nice view. There is wood provided so you can burn in the fireplace or bbq. The kitchen is somewhat equipped. Missing few things but mostly ready to use.

The house is old, which is fine. But the bathrooms were quite outdated. The shower is very small. The hot water needs few Minutes to arrive. There are quite a lot of ants and some other insects. The pool in not heated. You can't park inside the property. But apart from all that, we had a great time!

Hosts Rubina and Ricardo very welcoming and helpful. Property is well equipped. Really appreciated having plenty of towels for indoor and outdoor use.

Proximity to the busy main road into the village. It drowned out the birdsong and as nature lovers that was disappointing for us. Lack of air conditioning. Fans were provided but couldn't get cool enough to sleep well at night.

We loved this place. A big house all to our self. The host was very welcoming and helpful. If I go back to Madeira I will try and book this place again.
