Virunga Hotel

Staff were great...helped with transportation to Musanze. The rooftop restaurant is very good. Live music, too.

Manager did work to try to help me quite a bit with the room / wifi, the hotel is very central and the beds are clean and shower is decent. Breakfast was nice and they packed a box for me when I had to leave very early one day. They also helped me to arrange taxis to the gorilla trekking which was very helpful.

Room given was a little different than what was shown when I booked. Wifi wasn't working in my room, three stop and starts later they tried to find me a different room but showed me three different rooms but none of them had covers on the toilet. Ultimately decided to stay and just used the internet in the main areas. Not a dealbreaker but for the price paid would expect the internet to be working / for there to be other room options since the hotel is massive.

Receptionist was unfriendly and tried to charge us for a meal we didn’t have - when she realised her mistake did not apologise. There is no aircon in the room. We arrived for breakfast one morning about 30 mins after it had started and there was very little out - only had coffee and toast available. The following day when we came later the breakfast was ok.

Nice room, warm shower great location. And a pool! Good value foor money.

The location given on the site is not correct, so the directions lead you to a bank about 800 metres away. The hotel is right in the middle of city centre close to the Goico Plaza Market and Amikusi restaurant
