Yuzuya Ryokan - Adult Only

The location was nice. The ambiance was nice. Even though the pictures are misleading. You think when you arrive in the hotel that it is located in a garden or park or outside a bit of the city. They just have a small garden with a wall surrounded in order not to see that you are in the middle of the city. There was a small waterfall which was fake. They would shut it off at night.

Breakfast was very early and you had to make a reservation either 7:30 or 8:00 or 8:30! Also breakfast was only Japanese food, like fried fish, spices and rice in the morning. The bathroom of the room was very very cold. The whole lobby and corridors would smell like gas. They told us because it was cold these days they were using extra gas heaters. Not very nice.

Un endroit magique hors du temps , un accueil fantastique, au petit soins, la chambre est extraordinaire et le restaurant magique merci à toute l’équipe c’était un vrai bonheur.

Character of place, location, staff were excellent, breakfast was amazing.

정갈하고 맛있는 식사가 일품이었습니다. 위치도 교토역뿐만 아니라 기요미즈데라에서도 멀지 않아서 좋았고, 근처에 다른 식당들도 많았습니다. 특히 직원분들이 친절하셔서 평안히 머물 수 있었습니다.

저희가 묵었던 방은 대로변에 위치해 있어서 야간에 교통 소음이 좀 들렸습니다. 소음에 민감하신 분들은 조금 거슬리실 수도 있을 듯하네요.

Beautiful room and facilities

The staff were not very friendly or welcoming (mainly the women I met, there was a kind man at reception once). considering the price of the hotel you’d expect more, which left us quite dissapointed as this wasn’t the case at our other stays in Japan. Overall, even though it was a beautiful Ryokan, I don’t think the overall atmosphere of the place felt worth the money.
