"Lovely ryokan with beautiful rooms and delicious food."

Delicious breakfast, lovely room and ryokan courtyard and restaurant. All of it was fantastic and very authentic. The onsen was also very relaxing and a highlight.

Everything was great. The only minor thing was that the room did have some noise from the nearby busy road. This didn’t cause issues for us though.

"Absolutely amazing!"

This ryokan was truly one of the highlights of our trip. The room was stunning—spacious and thoughtfully designed, with separate areas for the bedroom and living room, plus a balcony overlooking the lively main street. The staff were warm, welcoming, and always ready to help. The public hot tub was incredibly relaxing, beautifully enhanced with fragrant yuzu fruits that added a special touch. But the real standout was the dinner—what an incredible surprise! It felt like dining at a Michelin-starred restaurant, with every dish crafted to perfection. The breakfast was also excellent—flavorful, varied, and a perfect start to the day.

Finding the entrance to the ryokan was a bit tricky at first—it would be helpful if the booking included clearer directions or even a photo of the entrance to guide guests. That said, while the stay was on the pricier side, I genuinely believe it was well worth it for the experience, comfort, and service we received.

"Amazing ryokan experience in Kyoto"

Incredible location, adjacent to so many of the sights in Kyoto. The building/facilities themselves were stunning! And the staff were so kind of walk you through the nuances of Japanese ryokans

I had dinner and breakfast during my stay at Yuzuya Ryokan, and the food was incredible. The ingredients were top quality and super tasty. I highly recommend eating here! The location is superb and easy to get to via bus - being right beside the Yasaka Shrine further emphasises the traditional feel of the ryokan and its beauty.

I can't seem to find anything wrong with the hotel. It was a great experience staying at a traditional ryokan, and the service was excellent.
