Yuzuya Ryokan - Adult Only

If you want to dive into the depths of historical japaneses culture within a major city, then this ryokan is your chance. The price is high, but the experience is more than one could pay for.

The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was amazing. The waterfall garden view was serene from our Tan (red) room.

While very small it is beautiful, especially the restaurant. The staff is very nice and helpful.

The “onsen” is very small. Our room was looking to the avenue so there was street noise all the time. We bought the dinner and breakfast. While both were beautifully presented, most of the food wasn’t our taste (it was the only food we did not like in all of our trip to Japan). I feel that the money spent for this place and the food was not worth it.

This very high-class Japanese Ryokan was exquisitely beautiful and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. There was a wooden bathtub in our room--which was really a suite with many beautiful touches.

The location, right at the center of Gion, is busy and noisy, and the atmosphere is very formal. The set meals for breakfast are included and they are gorgeous and complex, but so much more than we could eat. We opted out of the dinners. The indoor bath is nothing special. If you want to experience formal Japanese life, what the traditional Ryokans were like. this is the place. Very special, but not for a casual tourist.

The service, the space and food were amazing! And the bonus on top was that it was in the best location with restaurants along the street and the shrine right next door :)
