Village Place

The beds were comfortable.

The room is very basic. No place to put a suitcase unless it's on the floor or on a bed. The whole place had two other guests besides us, but they put both those guests right next to us. One was next to us and one was above us. The one above us was tromping around at 2:30 in the morning. The nights were cool enough to open windows, but the window levers on both windows facing the parking lot were broken. We had to have the AC on all night instead. The bathroom sink drain stopper doesn't work and the sink drains very slowly. We didn't realize that we wouldn't have enough coffee to cover our two night stay. Talk about stingy! I've never paid so much to get so little.

Hornets at the outdoor pool and the water isn’t heated but it would have been a waste with the hornet nests. They did spray but only one of the two nests.

It was a bit inconvenient having check in and staff at another location. Also, to use ammenities you had to get dressed, get in your car, and drive to another location. There was a coffee station in room and there was only coffee/supplies for one day even though we were staying for 3 nights.

The closet was rather hard to reach and open but all in all it was ok. Next, this does not have to do with the hotel but still… that happened: the guest on the second floor started to pound on the floor starting at 2 pm, probably getting ready for something. It was so loud that I just couldn’t have a good night of sleep

It was very clean and appreciate that it is pet friendly. Interior seemed newly remodeled from previous hotel Oxen Yoke. Staff at desk at Eastern Slope was courteous and check in was quick.

There was an awful strong and overwhelming smell of cleaning products. The room was so small I couldn’t get out of my side of the bed or into the closet either with both beds right up against the walls. Water pressure wasn’t good and bathroom had no place to put anything. Inconvenient to have to register at another facility in a different location. Unfortunately we most likely will not stay again.

Dulce Johnson, Front Office Operations Manager was not only professional, but a natural at Customer Service, Interpersonal Skills and compassionate about our disappointment in the facility. We stopped in the following morning, hoping to have a 1 on 1 conversation with her. And she was! Dulce did everything professionally to correct/ rectify the situation. I never went there to cause a scene, only to inform that the Village Place environment was definitely not the best fit for us, due to the selection of our room and no control for them.....an all night long: up and down stairs, family next to us had young children, ect. Dulce professional informed us that, since 3rd party booking, out of their control. We would never recommend, nor stay there again. Thank you, Greg & Tara Saunders.
