Bathroom situation isn’t great… the staff don’t seem to have much hospitality experience which really stands out amongst Japanese run places.
DKAUThe staff were helpful when we requested an additional futon for our room. Couldn't get a better location for skiing/snowboarding as the hotel is directly in front of the gondola. However the snow was almost non existent when we visited.
Bathrooms were smelly and needed deep cleaning and the western style single "cot" beds were too short for my partner. The shared onsen shower situation is not ideal without lockable doors.
JPLocation was great.
Hygiene. We found a cluster of dust under the bed, and we suffered from severe allergic reactions. Stuffed nose, couldn't breathe and sleep soundly at night. It didn't seem like the rooms were properly cleaned between guests' stay. There is a shower and bath but the bathtub has no water in it. The shower room is definitely not cleaned everyday because lumped hairs were clogging the drain and my feet felt slimy. No hot water from the sink so you need to wash your hands and face with icy cold water. Some staff were friendly and the location was great, but operational improvements were needed. Breakfast is not included but guests get 10% off from the menu. In-room heater turns off in the middle of the night. Weak wifi.
SGRide to door was unbeatable after a long day. And being right next to the gondola and rentals makes it even better.
Not much but if I were to be picky, possibly more shower n toilets. But I'm good. And due to the fact that it's close to gondola, it means a farther walk to town. Gotta set your priorities there.
AUso great the property is so close to the slopes, loved having the cafe downstairs and having such incredible staff to help us with anything we needed!
