Country Goose

Great location - very close to VNP. Jody made us a delicious breakfast with scrumptious waffles, lots of coffee, and fresh fruit. The bed was comfortable and there were nice heaters and the shower got nice and hot. FYI - this is truly a spare room (with a separate entrance) in Jody’s home, so just know that you’ll have breakfast in her personal kitchen, rather than it being a separate B&B establishment.

It would’ve been nice to have had a kitchen (or even a mini fridge) in the room just because there are so few food options nearby - there are truly 2 restaurants for dinner so be prepared to eat out. Jody did let us put some perishables in her fridge, but it felt like we were intruding on her personal space a bit, so I would plan to eat meals out in your stay here (the hearty breakfast provided helps) rather than rely on groceries. Also, I had seen on alternative listings that many spots had hot tubs and I thought it would’ve been too hot - nope! That would’ve been lovely haha. Be prepared to go to sleep early as there isn’t much around and the property is VERY quiet (we felt like we should whisper!)

A quaint little spot in a quiet corner of Volcano, Big Island. Comfortable for our very short stay. Staff were very welcoming and friendly.

Very cozy. A quiet place and comfortable room. Very good homemade breakfast.
