LA Médina Rabat

The host was amazing. They were so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. The place was even better than pictured

Not comfortable, smell of urine when entering hallway. Kitchen very basic, no sauce pans,kettle microwave. Stove didn't work on arrival gas needed replacing. They claimed to have 24 hour reception and have English speakers but they don't. They tried to stiff me with hidden fees Which I refused to pay, I paid the total agreed amount, I was owed some change and hopefully a receipt but it never arrived. They claimed to have satellite tv but it never worked I think the WiFi signal isn't strong enough for it.Prior to arriving I asked did they have the facilities to print boarding passes for my journey home, said they did but of course they didn't.

This was a pleasant surprise! Rabat is a more modern capital city so the medina isn't chaotic or especially large. I walked from the train station about 25 minutes to the edge at the very back of the medina, then found the alley entrance and climbed the wide stairs to level 2 (what some would call the third floor) to enter the apartment. Getting there was not a highlight, but the communication from the host (and his helper) was good enough to get me there. Once entering, the private bathroom was on the right, as was the kitchen following that, then a small lounge/living room, but then it gets interesting! I had no idea that the bedroom window - and the open patio off of the bedroom - overlooks (over the medina wall) the *giant* Cimetière des Martyrs and the Lighthouse of Rabat with the beaches and Atlantic ocean just beyond it! This made the apartment one of the highlights of my entire, multi-city trip to Morocco! One can see the waves crashing and the colors at both sunset and shortly after sunrise made the cemetery light dance. I spent hours out on the patio and was happy that I could see a similar view (but without the stars) from the bedroom once the patio got too cold.

1) There's a street under the bedroom window between the medina wall and the building where trucks park and (badly) attempt to navigate tight spaces, causing a lot of reversing, and the alleyway amplifies every sound. One can choose to reduce this noise by closing the bedroom window but then you lose the sound of crashing waves. 2) Given that there are only three bathroom fixtures (toilet, sink, and shower) you'd think that *one* of them would be in good working order, but that's not true: The toilet flush button is broken, the sink had its own problem, and the shower nozzle sprays cold water all over you because its defective. It's also not the cleanest bathroom, but this is common in Morocco. 3) Given this, I would say the price was higher than I'd expect for Morocco, *but* you get a full apartment with a view that I certainly didn't expect to be so incredible.

No hot tub. Very hard couch. Charging twice for cleaning fee. 1 towel for 2 people. Only hand held shower and no shower curtain

Nice little apartment with heating, the owner let me stay until 13.00 normally it's 11.00

The price on booking. Com was 42 euro but you PAY 68 euro 2 euro for parking at the property, this is not honest, it was challenging driving through Rabat for an hour using Google maps, so many roundabouts and turns ,

Good location and price. Owner was friendly and helpful - when the gas bottle for the stove ran out he was very quick in changing it for us. Nice and spacious terrace

Drains got a little smelly on our second/third day - maybe a blockage?
