Kurumba Lodge

Good sized room, comfortable beds with mosquito nets, modern bathroom. A/C broke down but was fixed quickly. Pleasant views over the rice fields, very peaceful. Wifi didn't work in room but fine on verandah. Dinner available (chicken kottu or fried rice) for Rs 1500, lunch Rs 2000, plus service charge. Breakfast a little basic compared to other accommodation. Remote location - no cafes nearby (or ATMs). Only family member who spoke English was schoolboy son who was heroic in his efforts to assist us. Onward transport to Negombo was very satisfactory.

We were disappointed with the half day safari organisation which we booked through Kurumba on the basis of good reviews, and their written assurance that drivers were trained and experienced "to deliver to our guests the best wildlife experience guaranteed". We had 2 guys, a driver and a tracker, completely separated from us in a closed off cab with the radio on. We couldn't communicate with them, and their communication was limited to their stopping the vehicle, rolling down the window, and announcing "stork", "deer", or "peacock" etc. English was very basic. We really received no information about the wildlife or the park. This was in stark contrast to our Udawalawe safari, with just a driver. Communication was excellent throughout and we learned a great deal of information. Our concerns and dissatisfaction were discussed in detail with Kurumba Lodge.

Sehr ruhige abgelegene Lage für Naturliebhaber in der Nähe des Wilpattu Nationalparks. Terrasse war groß mit direktem Blick auf die Reisfelder.

Fantastic location and the friendliest owner and family. They organised transport from the airport and for our onward journey to Dambulla. We also had a safari booked through the owners and we couldn't fault it. The food was delicious and the breakfast and lunch provided for the safari was amazing. Basic but comfortable, we loved it. Be realistic with your expectations - if you want overpriced luxury then pay for a resort. If you want genuine Sri lankan hospitality, look no further.

There was nothing to dislike.

サファリの際の朝食がスリランカ風？ホットサンドでしたが、もう少し食べ応えかつローカル感のあるものだと良かったです。あと、アレルギーのある人もいるのでゲストに聞くのがいいかもしれません。

The location was perfect, away from the main road with country side views, with a nice sitting area for realaxing and watching the wildlife. We were recommended a local lake within a 15 miniute easy walking distance, again lots of wildlife. Breakfast and meal cooked by the host, a different breakfast, like a toasted omlette sandwich and fruit, the evening meal traditional Sri Lankan rice & curry, perfect. We had pre-arranged with the host the safari, which was good value for money with a good driver/guide and were lucky to be the only ones to see the leopard on the day. Breakfast takeaway provided by the hosts and a lovely lunch of traditional food - perfect spice, which we love. Onward transport also arranged with the host with similar prices to pickme. 100% recommed this accomodation.

De locatie is heel mooi, dichtbij het wildpark en mooi uitzicht over de rijstvelden. En een lieve familie die proberen je verblijf zo goed mogelijk te maken.
