"Horrendous."

1.0

The only good thing is the location. But there are plenty of alternatives.

A horrendous experience. We were “welcomed” by a very rude lady, to a room so tiny you couldn’t open a small luggage on the floor. No space even for a small side table or shelf to charge a phone. Barely space to circle the bed. The bathroom is even worse. The Tv on the wall is a relic from the ‘90 as is the rest of the “furniture”. No shower gel or hand soap in the bathroom. But we found some used slippers. In the morning we went for breakfast where we were asked to seat at a table with a dirty table cloth with dead flies on it. When I asked to change table, the same “pleasant” lady said that the other tables were prepared for the lunch and we couldn’t use them. I asked to change the table cloth and she just wiped the dead fly off. That did nothing to the other stains of course. We left without breakfast and we will definitely not come back. Side note. The day before, the same “charming” lady tried to sell us a boat tour for at least 30% more than the average price you can find in town.

"Fake."

5.0

Comfortable bed. Right at the entry of the village. It has a small restaurant next to it.

Old. None of the WiFi routers worked. Devices connect to the router but there is no internet access. Blinds were not functioning because of broken handle and we had to hang a bedsheet to block the light. Telling manager did not help. Waste of time and effort. Staff don’t understand English very well, and miscommunication is the norm. The manager is a local hustler who behaves like a band leader of a group of locals who await unsuspecting visitors at the entry to the village like vultures scrapping for a carcass. The reviews are fake, or at least the good ones are. He goes around asking the customers to write good reviews, and I bet the staff, family and friends to do the same. He hustled us into paying €100 for a 3 hours lake boat trip that could have been completed in half that time, misleading us that we will miss our chance if we don’t book asap. A Balkan hustler. After arrival you realise how many others offer the same or better services: food, accommodation, boat tours.

"Dated rooms, arrogant and bullying owner, cheating staff"

5.0

The location is great for starting boat tours on the Skadar Lake. The room was passable, but very dated (the TV set must have been from the 1980s).

The owner (Mark) is very arrogant and, despite us being very tired after a long trip, he immediately started pressuring us into buying a boat tour the next morning at highly inflated prices (about 300% or €100 higher). He used bullying techniques such as saying that we would get arrested by police if we went with other tour providers and that we would face two-hour long waits to buy tickets from the park office the next morning unless we purchased the tickets from him immediately then and there in the evening (the wait actually proved to be only a couple of minutes). Also, the waiter at his restaurant Pelikan said that we could only pay by cash, while it turned out the next morning that they do have a working card machine, so the cash-only statement was a lie.
