Room 227 is an owner rented condos, not a hotel. Took TWO HOURS to get into room from arrival and no parking to be found. Room had old table and dusty lamps. Way overpriced. Vote NO if staying in room 227

Great location. Lovely grounds, helpful on site staff.

2 things would keep me from returning. 1) parking is bad. There are many more units than parking spaces. If you try to park in the evening you might have a long walk back. 2) the units are individually owned and you never know who you're gonna get. Our lessor locked us out of the unit at 830 am on the day we were leaving. We took the trash out, then walked back to get our stuff and put it in the car but were unable to get back in the unit. Luckily the office staff had a number that worked (the number given by booking.com did not work) and eventually we were able to get our things and make it to the airport in time to catch our flight. Also - the freezer needed a defrost so we ended up having to do that ourselves it just have a freezer that didn't close. The light in the bathroom hangs a bit precariously. And there are some tiny bugs in the bathroom and kitchen (normal for Hawaii but annoying).

Location was good. Easy access to food and shopping and beach.

Parking was difficult and not enough spaces. Was not clean (mostly floor). Bathroom sink leaked.

Nice pool area with BBQ grills and hot tub. Plenty of lounges to relax on. Perfect location to walk to shops and places to eat. Quiet.

Parking fills up quickly in afternoon so you have to park on the street. We usually walked everywhere so only used the car to get groceries. Our room was nice but a fan, or ceiling fan, would have been nice to move the AC air around a bit more.

The places is great and on-site help was great, however!!!

Very stressful. Booking .com was impossible to reach. Every # was a dead end. They DID NOT send us any instructions, room info, anything the week before or even the day of arrival. We wondered if we had been scammed. Up until we arrived and kona islander inn was very helpful getting us a room even though booking.com was so irresponsible.

Fantastic location right in the middle of kona town. Great value for money, classic 70s style Polynesian resort, felt right at home.

Loved the convenience of the hotel, very friendly staff.

There was no place to leave the luggage after check out. Tv didnt work
