ViengTara VangVieng Resort

We stayed in one of the bungalows overlooking the paddy fields and the karst mountains. The view was absolutely beautiful- definitely the best of our entire trip. The bungalow was lovely and the bed extremely comfortable. A delicious breakfast is delivered to your bungalow each morning. We had drinks on the hotel deck watching the hot air balloons drifting across the cloudless sky and paramotors soaring high above - magical.

The rooms was fantastic, the staff were great and the view was spectacular.

WiFi kept on disconnecting and was down for two days at one point.

The setting is one of the most beautiful locations I’ve ever stayed. The location is close enough to town to walk in but also nice to be out of the bustle.

The breakfasts were cool / cold upon serving. I appreciate they serve these to the rooms but improvement needs to be made here.

This is a gorgeous hotel which lives up to the promise of spectacular views of Vang Vieng. The staff are warm and attentive and the rooms are large size with everything you could need. It was wonderful watching the sunset with the hot air balloons and paramotors going by.

When paying for the room I opted to pay in LAK, thinking the currency would be best suited. I was not warned of the severely unfavourable conversion the hotel uses and the room ended up costing an additional $20usd due to this conversion. The staff did not warn me of this when paying and I could have paid in a different currency to avoid this. They did rectify this by offering me some laundry (though when I brought it to the reception it was a different member of staff there and they refused me it for free and I had to get them to call someone else) and a ride back to the train station to make up for it as they weren't able to reimburse me. I think this should be made clear to guests when paying and also when services are offered ensure that it is communicated to staff members who will be on reception.

Unique stay. Rice forleds are beautiful and the views when you walk among them stunning. Staff struggle a bit with English but are nice and helpful.

Location a bit out of the way... 15 min walk to main markets etc which is not pleasant at night so better to take a tuktuk.
