Everything All the location, the house, the rooms, the garden, the food and the welcome from Monica and owners Kate and Simon. We had the pleasure of dining there and it was a treat for the taste buds! the place is truly magnificent! many thanks to Monica for her good advice on must-see places and for getting around!

Everything was perfect! We needed a couple of days of rest after a busy tour and this was the ideal, nurturing environment. The rooms, food and garden were perfect. Kate and Simon and their lovely team were generous with their space and time and took very good care of us.

Beautiful location in Unawatuna, secluded but within easy reach of the town and beach. The garden is wonderful with a beautiful natural pool to relax. The house itself is stunning and the design features so unique. The whole atmosphere is so tranquil. Simon and Katarzyna were perfect hosts, welcoming and helpful but also allowing space to relax and enjoy! Food was also delicious and wholesome. Can't recommend enough- will be back!

From the checking everything was so easy. Symon, Kate, Mónica and all the staff are very friendly and they try to make you feel at home everytime. The place is perfect to connect with yourself and the nature. The house is beutiful and they take into account every single detail. Food is incredible, healthy and very organic. A stay in roots retreat is definitelly worth it. Hope the best for this beautiful familly.

Wonderful hosts and attentive, kind staff. Beautiful, peaceful surroundings and garden. Delicious, nutritious, clean, fresh meals provided by the staff. Fantastic, professional masseuse. Location is close to the beach and ameneties.

Google Maps took us a longer route on a tiny dirt road instead of the route that was a shorter distance, with a wider paved road, closer to the main road.

Honestly, EVERY. THING! I don't know where to begin! When you stay here, expect the freshest, healthiest, tastiest organic meals, stunningly beautiful accommodation with minimalist decor, the most warm, kind and generous hosts - Monika, Eva and the staff, and my personal favorites - Luna, the golden retriever, Coffee & Toffee, the kitties and the adorable turtles in the pond along with the most stunning fish... Every moment here fills you with wholesome, soulful memories.. You detox, rejuvenate and revive your heart, mind and soul in every sense of the words. I would highly recommend this stunning resort to anyone.

Absolutely stunning garden and hotel. Everything was done with much love to detail. The staff really was outstandingly kind and helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay and would come back any time.

Roots Retreat was for me the perfect place to end my Sri Lankan trip. Here, I found myself in a nice calm Garden House in the forest of Unawatuna waking up every morning with bird and grasshopper sound. The location is perfectly made with so much love and with a focus on details I really appreciated. I felt not just as another customer but as somebody who is very welcome! Kasha, Simon, Monica and the whole team made me feel like „part of the family“. The Training sessions with Simon have been very professional and informative. The breakfast and dinners served have been ones of the best I enjoyed during my trip. Everything is cooked freshly, healthy and with good ingredients. Also the Ayurveda Massage wraped everything up as another perl. Thanks for everything! .
