Very friendly host. Cheap and 10 minutes from the busterminal to belize. Bedsheets were clean and pillows comfortable.

Don’t know where to begin… There are basically no roofs for the rooms, only thin walls are separating the rooms. You don’t see this in the images, otherwise we wouldn’t have booked this after 12 hours of busrides. The noise and light of other rooms are in your „room“ as well. „Room“ looks like a prison cell. We came very late and there was no light in the bathrooms. Shower looked like a garden-shower. Fan in the room was super loud, impossible to sleep with that thing turned on. Mosquito net had a giant hole in it and there were several mosquitoes IN there. We almost had no sleep and only stayed because it was so late and there was no alternative. Also had no breakfast because we left early.

Delmar is a great host. He cooked breakfast for everyone every morning and we would all sit chatting which was super lovely and sociable. It’s all outdoors so feels like camping and is lovely when it is sunny. The rooms are shed type of things rather than tents. Great location super close to the lagoon and to the centre. Drinking water available too which was a plus.

It rained very heavily and flooded parts of the room and ran down the walls making the bed wet. Delmar was helpful and on hand to help with this. Also the mosquito net is slightly too small for two people in a double bed but it does the job. There’s no hot water which wasn’t a problem for us but just bear that in mind and can be quite loud at night as the sheds are not soundproof (bring earplugs!)

The location is ok, but there are plenty of equally cheap places with as good location and better facilities.

I can't understand how this place got so good rating. When we arrive there is no doorbell or anything. We were lucky that some other guests were by the door and we asked them to let us in. They did, but even the guests where rude. Once inside we had no idea where to go or where the staff was. After a few minuters a guy comes and points us to a room and that's it. I knew it would be a simple place, but I had expecting it to be nice in some way because of the high rating. It's not. The rooms are built of plywood in a backyard. There are not real doors, just plywood. You can not lock from the inside of you room. There are mosquitos in the rooms, because it is basically outside. There are two toilet and a shower. The backyard itself is not cosy at all, all concrete and plywood. We had booked three nights, but knew immediately that we couldn't stay. We sent a request to change date to only one night in the booking app. They did accept the change, so we only had to pay for one night, but even if the didn't, we would have left the next morning. If it wasn't already 20:00 we wouldnt stay even one night. I still had high expectations for the breakfast. But another guest told me that Delmar himself was not at home, so there would be no breakfast this day. He had left som eggs and beans and we could cook ourselves if we wanted to. I was really mad, because this is not what I paid for. I didn't want to cook, we just shared an avcado and a tomat. Probably it would have been a lot better if Delmar was there. And they could have told us the night before about the breakfast. But this is the experience I had. And it's not that cheap either. It's not "simple, but good value for money". Anywhere else is better, it can hardly get any worse.

It’s easy and the bed is old and a bit smelly

It’s 1 km from the ADO station. It’s 10 minutes to walk to free beach and to nice coffee shops and restaurants. The owner is very charming, nice person. It’s very simple, but does its job. The town is a very cozy place, I got a lot of contact to locals on the piers, just chatting.

Shower area could be cleaner. I killed one big cockroach in the room. The Moskito net has some holes, so I am not sure if I get my bites in the room or outside in the evening. But I enjoyed my stay there and in the town of Bacalar. It was very relaxing, would go there again.
