The facilities are not high end, but according the budget

The breakfast was delicious and substantial. The owner is helpful and very friendly. We had a mosquito net on our bed which was essential and a fan which was good.

The lack of solid walls lets a lot of bugs and sounds in. We had to sleep with ear plugs in and two fans on full blast next to our heads to drown out the noise of the next door neighbor’s incessant barking dogs.

Beautifully quaint hostel with open plan living and cooking areas. Delmar was very kind and helpful, and he cooked an amazing breakfast. Very fast wifi too. Look forward to coming back!

The breakfast is very good and the host ist very friendly and helpful.

The room, especially the bed was terrible and one of the worst rooms I have ever slept in. It smells bad because they just painted over the mold everywhere on the walls. It is probably very bad for your health to breath the air in this room. There is no air conditioner and the vent is extremely loud and even the lowest level blows way too strong. I ended up sleeping a night on the floor because the bed was worse than sleeping on stone. The bedsheets are made of plastic and stick to your skin. the bathroom is simply disgusting. we witnessed the „cleaning“ of our room, where the host simply took a broom. We felt very very uncomfortable.

Really nice breakfast from a lovely host. He gave us useful information as to where to go in Bacalar and for the following part of our trip to Xpujil. Nice location. The rooms and facilities are basic, but nice.

We've had nicer accomodations for the same price in different cities, but it seemed this was just the price for Bacalar.
