Hotel Mariya International Bodh Gaya

The staff were helpful. Rooms were mostly clean.

The wifi was not working when we arrived. Eventually it was switched on but kept disconnecting and took a long time to reconnect so was a bit frustrating and disappointing. The kitchen also didn't have most of the menu items available when we tried ordering food. My bed was collapsed on the one side which made it an uncomfortable nights rest.

Property was not Clean , smelled very bad and lot of Mosquitoes. The Restaurant response was vary bad and they took almost 45 min to cook the food

Hotel was far away from city centre-rickshaw charged Rs.200 one way from near the Bangladesh Buddhist monastery. 1. NO LIFT : BE CAREFUL THERE WAS NO LIFT - don't RECCOMMEND FOR PERSONS WITH MOBILITY PROBLEM. It WAS NOT CLEAR WHEN I BOOKED THAT THE HOTEL DOES NOT HAVE ANY LIFT. 2. GROUND FLOOR HAS NO ROOM. IT HAS FIRST FLOOR ONLY AND CONSTRUCTION WAS SEEN TO BE GOING ON. AS A RESULT, HUGE SOUND WAS COMING DURING NIGHT FROM TOP. 3. BACKUP POWER ? EVERY NIGHT WE FACED FREQUENT POWER DISRUPTION, I WAS TOLD DUE TO POWER CUTS. THE BACKUP TOOK MORE THAN A MINUTE TO RESTORE POWER. 4. WE WERE INTIALLY GIVEN ONE ROOM WITH BROKEN WINDOW + NON-FUNCTIONAL PHONE + OUT OF ORDER ELECTRIC KETTLE. THEY GOT US SHIFTED THOUGH. THE SECOND ROOM HAD A NON-WORKING ELECTRIC KETTLE, BUT WE DID NOT PRESS ON. 5. THOUGH A NEW HOTEL, CORRIDOR SIDE, BOARDS DEPICTIONG VARIOUS PHOTOS WAS HANGING LOOSELY OUT OF SPACE. WE WERE EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. IT COULD HAVE BEEN A GREAT HOTEL BUT IT IS NOT. I ADVISED RECEPTION TO CHECK EVERY PIECE OF ANY ROOM BEFORE GUEST ARRIVES. OBVIOUSLY THE HOTEL MANAGEMENT STAFF IS SLEEPING.

The hotel staff were super friendly and welcoming, and the hotel manager, Anand, couldn't be more helpful.

Quiet location a bit away from Mahabodhi etc, near to Tara temple (must see) and not so far from Tergar monastery. We could see beautiful Tara from our window. The owner is very nice and responsive, he offers free drop-offs and pick-ups for the guests to and from the center of Bodhgaya. The bed and room itself were comfortable enough.

No soundproof at all, so if you have an Indian wedding party onsite... forget about sleep. Bed sheets were too small. Water pump is quite loud and It takes around 5 minutes for water to get warm.

A little out of the way. Not really walking distance to anywhere so a vehicle is required!
