Casa Valxisto is a rare gem .... located just out of Porto but deep enough into the country side to satisfy our need for some peace and quiet. On arrival our host made us welcome and relaxed ... to the point where we were encouraged to walk the farm and forage for Blue Berries deep down in the valley. This was a special experience after 20 days on the road. Our room? Big, clean and luxurious, the view over the infinity pool spectacular. Did we mention our inclusive breakfast? .... home made from products sourced off the farm and prepared in their rustic kitchen, fresh and tasty.

Un immense merci à toute l’équipe de la Casa Valxisto pour cette semaine idyllique. Tout était absolument parfait, au point qu'il est bien difficile de repartir ! Ce que nous avons adoré : Une bienveillance unique : Un merci tout particulier à Leonor, dont la délicate attention pour mon anniversaire m’a profondément touché(e) jusqu’aux larmes. Le cadre : Un lieu magique, synonyme de calme, de quiétude et de sérénité. L'excellence du service : De l’accueil chaleureux au confort de la chambre, sans oublier la qualité remarquable des petits-déjeuners et des dîners, tout était irréprochable.

This location exceeded my expectation, The staff were excellent we were given a 15 min induction and was taken all over the complex. They went above and beyond by also providing food recommendations, detailed hike routes. Also, clear instructions on when returning to the hotel after hours. The Hotel has a pool, lounge with a pool table, indoor and out seating area and a nice allotment at the back where you can pick the blueberries and have them at your own consumption. Also, some goats, chickens and donkeys to see. The hotel room was very clean, towels were replaced when needed, and we were provided with a dinner menu in advance if we wanted to dine at the hotel. They care about the small details on our checkout day they prepared a takeaway breakfast for us on their own accord

The only thing which is very minor is that there is no fridge in your room
