Hotel Siyathma polonnaruwa

Clean rooms, very good quality /price ratio, amazing breakfast, friendly staff. Good budget option. A bit remote, but still walkable to the center - approx 25 mimutes nice walk along the lake.

Doors to the bathroom need to be sealed, mosquitos were comming to the room (no mosquito net). Lot of noise from cars and buses during the day - night was ok. For people less sensitive to noise it could be fine.

All the staff at the hotel are so friendly and obliging and the food for both dinner and breakfast is plentiful and delicious.

Food was good and the person who served us was very friendly and accommodating.

Cleanliness. There were cats in the dining room and dogs at the doorstep. They were stray dogs and cats. We know mosquitoes are common in the area however gaps in the doors and bathroom windows made it easier for them to come through to the room. I booked this place considering the good reviews but this was a disappointment for us..

Staff is very service oriented and nice. Rooms are very clean as well as bed linen and towel.

Rooms need deep renovation and proper windows in the bathroom which miss. Matrass is unfit with the type of bed and very thin. Breakfast misses juice/free drink further to tea/coffee and preference for eggs.

We loved staying with Vindhya and her lovely family at her Hotel Siyathma. Their warmth radiates through everything they do. The food is excellent; some of the best we had in Sri Lanka. Vindhya and her son (who does the cooking) even gave my wife lessons one evening. The hotel is conveniently located to the historical ancient city. They helped us arrange tuk tuk 🛺 transport for our daily tours and then also arranged our transport back to Colombo.
