"Best location to spot the northern lights in completely privacy."

10.0

The privacy at the location is priceless. You have everything what you need there. The best part is that you dont have to go out hunting norther light, you only havd to open the back or front door and admire them!

We love the artic dome but the heating system could be improved. Because it was very cold and not suitable to sleep over night.

Location and facilities of tiny home and tent

Heating isn’t sufficient in tent in extreme cold even with the fire

"A fun and unique experience, beautiful location, but be prepared it is glamping in the artic!"

7.0

A really unique and fun experience in January 2025. The dome and the mini house were in a beautiful location, easy to get to and access and with parking right next to it - a lovely space to relax and get away from busy life for a while. I like to provide honest reviews for future travellers. It was a really fun and different experience - yes the dome gets cold but it’s winter, and once the fire was going it really warmed up - just keep it going with lots of logs and it’s fine and toasty (more logs can be found by the guesthouse). The mini house was always warm which was nice. The hot tub was brilliant, very warm and we had some beautiful northern light shows so I’d recommend hiring this. Note that it is glamping, with a small but very functional kitchen and in quite a small space so bear this in mind when booking larger groups. The small extension room to the mini house is really cosy and fun. The host is also very responsive so any questions you can get a very quick reply, and there was a range of oil and spices and food already there which was useful. Bear in mind the walkways get extremely icy. You have to step down from the unit when leaving onto a wooden decking which is very icy and we fell over a few times - not suitable for less mobile people in the winter. Tips for fellow travellers for winter travel: - wear very warm PJs or extra thermals for sleeping in the dome, then it’s fine. Maybe even a hot water bottle and wear a hat. - take a torch - do your food shopping before you arrive in Tromso, there’s a fridge no freezer. - Be prepared for uncomfortable showers - it’s a misting shower which isn’t great, and doesn’t get hot despite the other taps having awesome pressure and hot water.

As above, whilst we loved our stay, there could have been lots of improvements which would have made it even better. 1) there was no working light in the bathroom which isn’t ideal in the winter (the light switch had out of order stuck on it) there’s LED strip lighting but it was broken and flashed continuously so that didn’t work either. Luckily we bought a torch but not ideal. 2) The light switches (a control) to the lights in the dome and extension to the mini house should work - but they don’t so you have to find a plug socket and pull it out which is a bit annoying, but an easy fix, and a small thing. 3) A huge crack in the front glass of the mini house is seriously dangerous! Please fix asap before someone seriously injures themselves!!! Tips for host: - change the shower head to a proper one, then the pressure will allow for quick showers whilst there is hot water, right now it’s difficult and not a comfortable experience with coldish mist, which is a real shame as it’s so cold outside in the winter and no way to warm up. This is the biggest thing for us. - Hooks by the hot tub would be appreciated to hang towels - A headboard on the bed in the dome would have been ideal as pillows kept falling off behind. - If you redo the kitchen, please put in a larger sink for washing up more easily (oven tray was difficult) - Why does the price jump up loads for more guests…this felt very cheeky as the same (very small) space needed heating and another towel isn’t really a large expense especially it’s a premium price anyway. Please reconsider this - or have a benchmark price for up to 4 + a little bit more for extras. If lots of these things are sorted, this would be an incredible and comfortable experience, but the host needs to action ASAP.
