We stayed a few nights in this lovely home just outside Ortigia, about 15 minutes' walk from the island. It’s in a quiet, peaceful area — we arrived at night and walked from the train station without any trouble. The neighbourhood felt calm and safe, and there are a few restaurants and a bar nearby. The house itself is beautifully simple and tasteful — no mass-produced furniture, just a space with real character and charm. It has a very organic feel, like a traditional home with soul, but not nostalgic — like a grandmother’s house if your grandmother were still young :) The spiral wooden staircase is beautiful, though our small dog couldn’t climb it — we carried him up and down with no problem. The space was impeccably clean, and communication was excellent. Our host replied quickly, helped us with every question, and even arranged a taxi for us. One small note: the house doesn’t provide food or drink beyond a welcome coffee pod or two, due to local regulations — so bring your own coffee if you’re a morning person. Would we recommend it? Yes, definitely — if you’re looking for a calm, aesthetically original place, with a personal touch and a real local feel, this is a great choice.

Fantastic flat close to the wonderful old part of Siracusa, Ortigia. I never had such an amazing stay. Very friendly host who provided a lot of useful information about Siracusa and its surroundings. I will definitely consider coming back to this wonderful place!
