"An amazing place to stay!"

Liz & Robin are friendly, welcoming hosts who took time to sit & chat over a coffee on our arrival. Large, comfortable ensuite room. The 1890's house is huge & full of interesting furniture, clocks, music machines, & bits & bobs - the more you look the more you'll see. So interesting to see how a well off family may have lived over a century ago. Staying here is not just about having a place to stay, it's a memorable experience, and Liz & Robin go out of their way to ensure that is so. The full breakfast provided is varied and very comprehensive; so much variety and attention to detail. Even the fruit had been grown on site.

"An amazing experience with wonderful hospitality"

A real old fashioned English style hotel with everything you could wish for.. Robin and Elizabeth were a charming couple and made sure we had everything we needed - thoroughly enjoyed chatting to Elizabeth. Breakfast was freshly cooked and attention to detail was first class.

Excellent hosts. Fantastic historic property filled with period furniture. Lovely gardens and peaceful setting. Such a unique stay. Fantastic value for money. We would have been very happy to pay extra for the breakfast which was included in the room rate.

"Perfect in every way and value for money."

We took a room with ensuite in a beautiful character home set in expansive grounds in the countryside. The owners have furnished and maintained the property with meticulous care. We were welcomed genuinely as the owners' guests. The breakfast in the beautiful dining room was as fine as anything we have enjoyed in our travels. We have stayed before and will stay again - a perfect base for an extended stay in the Wairarapa.

There was nothing that could have been better - it was perfect.

"Outstanding Experience."

Breakfast was excellent. Full breakfast or continental. Home cooked. Served by the owner. The rooms were old fashioned and EXCELLENT. We got the 'big room' with the ensuite. This place is wonderful and they could charge double. Truly fantastic. Hosts are great too and chatty and huge fun. LOVED IT.
