Our stay at Majentra was really lovely and as it’s still relatively new I think just needs some fine tuning to make it perfect. The view is probably the most epic I’ve ever seen and we experienced some mad sunsets and sunrises at Majentra. The road to the property is as others have noted is very bumpy but they can shuttle you to and from the main road. I liked seeing the plantations on the way and learning about the surrounding areas. For us it wasn’t an issue as long as you factor in the extra time. The food is very good and in particular the Sri Lankan options were superb - particularly the curries. Majentra is new and building new facilities and the owners seem very keen to ensure guests are given wonderful services and with only four rooms it means it feels really intimate and secluded. Can’t wait to see how the hotel develops! Would recommend for sure!

The coffee could be improved - maybe a proper coffee machine would make a difference. The option to have massages/treatments would be great too as the location is so beautiful and serene.

The view is unreal! Comfy clean beds! The journey through the tea plantation to get to the hotel is all part of the experience, embrace it! They kept apologising and saying they’re getting a new road as soon as possible but we all actually enjoyed the journey! ( We’re a couple with kids 5 & 8) the hotel staff arrange to meet you at the end of the track and shuttle you back and forth! The shower was hot, yes there’s some ants and the odd mosquito but nothing that bothered anyone! Highly recommend a night or two here, breakfast was also phenomenal and the evening menu has great options! Not a bad word to say! Thanks to Kavindu for looking after us!

Beautiful location, very well presented property with excellent food. Staff are very caring and attentive. Special mention to Dilukshan who provided us with a personal service to make our stay even more special. I would highly recommend this hotel. 10/10

Las vistas y el entorno del hotel son espectaculares, inmerso en la naturaleza. Estubimos en una cabaña de dos plantas con cama de matrimonio en la planta baja y dos camas en la superior. El baño tenía una jakuzzi con vistas al valle. La comida del hotel fué buenísima, era fin de año y hacían un menú especial de Navidad a los que teníamos media pensión. Estubo todo muy bueno.

El acceso al hotel es un poco accidentado, tienen que recogerte los del hotel en un jeep y llevarte ellos el tramo final de 15 minutos. Las mesitas de noche eran un poco pequeñas.

Super nice, calm and relaxing hotel. We loved it, especially the view!!!!! Just be aware that it is outside of Ella and you have to go down a stony and steep road with a little bus from the hotel. It was all perfectly organized, just takes a little (around 20mins) to get to Ella!

This hotel has the most unbelievably beautiful view we have ever seen. Every time we saw it we still couldn't believe it. The huts are also beautiful but with a few minor issues. The jacuzzi bath with the view is to die for and the room is decorated well. You can choose between continental, American or Sri Lankan breakfast and after backpacking for a while we opted for the American for a change. We personally enjoyed the breakfast. Fruits, yoghurt, pancakes and then what we would call an English breakfast of bacon, tomato and toast etc. They ask for the day before what time you would like to eat which we liked as it saved us waiting a long time in the morning. Dinner is a set menu if you are half board, salads, soups and then 3 main meals to choose from. We enjoyed the evening meals (but are easily pleased).

Other than the view, we would say this place doesn't have a lot else going for it. Check in is strange - no explanation on where things are, that you can get laundry or have your room cleaned everyday. It wasn't until we checked out that we found out both of these! The pool area isn't very clean, the cushions for the beds haven't been cleaned in a long long time and when we went to use one it was covered in 1000s of ants. We also weren't told we could have water topped in our room daily and no water offered at meals times. You would think half board you would get at least water. Also whoever decided to allow families to stay in the room above the only one double room needs to rethink. We had a family with two small children staying above us (loudest family in history) and we could hear every word they said, kids screaming etc. I think for such a secluded peaceful place this needs to be re-thought. If we allowed it, it could have ruined our trip even though we had to complain multiple times. You have to be early to shower too as there is limited supply of hot water. Every night we had Luke warm baths / showers. Finally, there is one lovely staff member (unsure of his name but he worked in Abu Dhabi and wore all black every day) he was excellent however the rest not so much. If you don't plan on leaving this place then it is maybe worth it but if you do, I wouldn't. You will struggle to get into Ella as taxis and tuk tuks are reluctant to come as far as the hotel

Anfangs waren wir etwas überrascht, die Anfahrt zu Hotel ist doch etwas holprig. Aber wir wurden mit einem perfekten Ausblick und Ruhe belohnt… Es war traumhaft

Es war alles perfekt

Die Lage im Herzen des Dschungels. Toller Ausnlick. Das Chalet ist super für eine Familie. Das Schwimmbad ist ebe falls wunderbar gelegen.

Es gibt nichts zu bemängeln.
