Manaaki Aroha

We can highly recommend it. It is an extremely lovely apartment. It has everything you need. Besides the typical things, there is some breakfast provided and also oil and spices for cooking. There is even a garden with some vegetables that you can pick. We had a late appointment and it was no problem at all to arrange a late check out.

The host was so lovely & welcoming. As for the accommodation, there was absolutely nothing you needed that wasn't catered for......I couldn't believe how great the set up was !! Such a nice comfortable bed and the decorations were top notch and made it feel so homely. Parking was literally right at the door which made it so easy to move your luggage which was an added bonus. I can highly recommend this place and I'd rate our stay as 10 out of 10 !! If I return to New Zealand I know where I'm booking for the lower section of The North Island. Thank you so much to the host, you are so thoughtful and welcoming to your guest which was greatly appreciated 💯👍

The whole place was really good I enjoyed staying there and the unit had everything you could want and more. Area was very quiet and I loved the outside area with table and chairs to sit out there and just enjoy the surroundings.

I felt that there could have been a better lock on the internal door that lead into the main house from the B & B

Peaceful could hear birds cows and nature , trees swaying in the breeze. Kitchenette fab. Huge variety and quantity of snacks much appreciated and drinks hot and cold. Games , table to sit and eat at , inside and out. Park right by the door Free salad veges in garden. Nature lovers will love this cabin. Stars very visible at night due to location and setting. Great cooking facilities and fridge . Everything functions so if you just want basics no frills and nature by the bucket loads , this really feels like the place to be. Loved the hangers by the door for bags coats etc. Great tv and channels and instructions how to use the tv . Lots of games if you’re into that.

Car Park was very tight , lots of gorgeous ferns etc just a tad too in your way to get your luggage out past it all into the house and also a bit overgrown to get to the key lock. Underfoot was uneven by the car so nearly twisted an ankle a few times. A little damp smelling or perhaps some new carpet and a lick of paint will help? The spiral step upstairs with the door into the upstairs of the house, felt a little un-private, felt funny looking up knowing someone could look down on you sleeping. Creepy. And kept bumping head on the staircase to access suitcase storage. Would have loved a soft snuggly couch to watch tv after a long drive. I think you should try reconfigure the room. Maybe some screens on the windows to stop 🕷️ spiders & bugs. We loved leaving the windows open but got a woppa spider on our bag in the night. Felt very dark. Maybe the spiral staircase above intruded into the room too much. No fan in bathroom. High windows in there too. Step up and into over into shower. Old styles. Had to be very flexible to reach backwards for loo paper which wanted to keep falling off into the loo. If you removed those stairs you could add another bed and or couch . This place has real potential. Felt claustrophobic in the bathroom sorry , worried about privacy showering with the above head window and at night , the influx of possible bugs attracted to the light , so couldn’t leave the window open for air in the bathroom. Perhaps that’s why the rooms smelling damp ? Would love to see this place updated freshened up.
