Matteotti Royale Apartments

Das Appartement ist mittendrin von Ortigia und daher wunderbar zentral. Es ist sehr modern und stylisch eingerichtet mit sehr guten Klimaanlagen in jedem Zimmer (ausser dem Bad). Auch das Bad ist sehr modern mit viel Platz. Überhaupt hat jedes Zimmer sehr viel Platz und ist toll luftig, was durch die hohen Decken noch unterstützt wird. Es sind reichlich neue Kissen und Zudecken vorhanden. Alles erscheint sehr neu und "apetitlich". Rundherum läuft ein Balkon von dem man einen schönen Blick in die Gassen hat (das Appartement ist im 3. Stock mit Aufzug). Die Fenster lassen sich wunderbar abdunkeln. Giulio, der Betreuer des Appartements, war sehr freundlich und gab uns tolle Tipps für Restaurants, Badestellen...etc.

- Das Appartement ist an der verlängerten Zugangsstrasse in die Altstadt. Diese Strasse ist oft laut....auch nachts, obwohl sie nur in eine Richtung befahren wird, nicht wirklich viel Verkehr herrscht und trotzdem die Fenster gut abdichten, hört man die Mopeds und Autos. - Leider sind die Matratzen nicht neu sondern durchgelegen und im Doppelbett trifft man sich in der mittigen Kuhle. Das gilt für beide Doppelbetten. - Wir hatten nur ein Schlüsselset für das Appartement und mussten uns somit immer in der Familie absprechen.

This was the best part of our trip in Sicilly. The appartment is in the best part of the city. You don't have to worry about restaurants, breakfast, coffee or food. It's all in the neighbourhood. The appartment is big, clean and very luxurious. You feel like a king in this house! Thanks to Guilio the owner. Great host.

During weekends it could be noisy, but if you book this appartment in the middle of Ortigia, you can expect some city noise.

We stayed here for ten days and overall had a good experience. The apartment is more spacious than the photos suggest, and when you first enter, you're immediately impressed by the grand look and open feel of the space. It features very new facilities and extremely comfortable mattresses — no back pains at all, which is rare! It's also perfectly located in Ortigia, just steps from a traditional market, grocery stores, great restaurants, and a public parking lot just outside the island.

The street is very loud, especially with cars and motorcycles starting around 5am — it took us a few days to get used to the noise, and we ended up keeping music on indoors to relax. Also, while the apartment is nicely renovated, it feels like the owner hasn't spent much time living there — so some practical details are missing. For example, there are only three outlets that can handle thicker plugs, and oddly, even their own hairdryer doesn’t fit most outlets — we had to dry our hair in the hallway, sitting on the floor. The kitchen looks modern, but the IKEA pots barely work on the induction stove, so boiling water took far too long. (The owner could spend just a few more euros to buy proper induction-compatible pots for the comfort of guests.) One of the kitchen cabinet doors doesn’t close properly because the magnet is installed in the wrong orientation — it swings open by itself all the time. Also, the light switches are a bit confusing, without any marks. Small details, but they add up during a longer stay. The space also feels a bit empty, likely because it's still quite new.

Modern but comfortable apartment with lots of balconies. Well equipped kitchen and everything else we needed. Very quiet at night. Nice to have a big bed that wasn’t two single beds put together! Really appreciated that elevator after doing a lot of walking. Host’s recommended sandwich place was great.
