Historic peaceful apartment

Very well organized, equipped, and cleaned apartment. The owners were very kind in providing some kitchen items that made our stay easier. Easy access, parking space, and a pleasant environment made our stay in New Haven special.

The apartment has everything you could want, from a full kitchen to books and TV with movies provided! There are snacks (popcorn/chocolates), which were a lifesaver when I rolled in after traveling and working for 18 hours without eating. It's a small thing, but the water in the shower/tap warmed up very quickly. That's always nice! Charles was also kind, responsive, and worked with me when a couple complications arose.

The bed was a little creaky. It squeaked at the slightest movement. But that's no big deal!

It was a cute but small place.

The person upstairs you heard up stomping across the floor at 4am, you heard the shower upstairs at 4am… they must have had company that left on Sunday morning at 5-5:30 am and you heard them dragging a suitcase down the steps and wheeling it down the sidewalk. Early Monday morning I heard upstairs what sounded like someone throwing up and having the dry heaves at 4-4:30 and the shower running twice in between that time as well. Not much sleep. The heat was set to stay in the low 60’s starting at 1:00 am and at 20 some degrees outside it was quite cold inside. We had to buy extra blankets because there were non . It had 3 parking spaces but 2 were quite small and I am glad I had an SUV because you had to drive over the curb to park in them. Personally I was not very satisfied with the stay.

This was a great find for us. We booked at the last minute and I think we were very lucky as I suspect it isn't often vacant. By chance we met the host, Charles, when we arrived - he had already sent a friendly greeting with the key instructions. He and his wife operate the property and provide a lovely introduction to them, the property, and the local area - including recommendations on dining. The apartment has all that is needed for a comfortable stay - we could easily have stayed a week, if we'd had the time. Exceptional and caring hosts and a great place to stay in New Haven.

The neighbourhood is not the best and was a little rowdy early in the evening. However, we did not feel unsafe, and there is off-road parking available, which we were comfortable using.

Overall, the stay was quite satisfactory. The host was responsive and all amenities provided as described. The apartment is not new and may need some refurbishment, but still it's comfortable inside.

The neighborhood is very ethnically diverse, to say politely. Although it appeared quiet, we noticed a few less prosperous individuals around, which made us feel a bit uneasy walking at night. And, the sound insulation of the house could be better for this type of neighborhood. Loud noises and music from the passing cars with "sport😅" exhausts didn't contribute to the good sleep.

It was a comfortable and cute apartment, well equipped for a longa-term stay.
