The fact that when you went downstairs and it smelled of damp. had to open all windows and put on the de humidifier. Maria- the care taker could have aired the place out before hand and could have given it a good dusting. There were far too many cobwebs and spiders in and around the rooms and corners. Cupboards were dusty and smelled of damp. No air con units. No wine bottle opener so had to visit the neighbour Kevin to assist.

The property is clean, accessible, and beautifully decorated. The view from the lounge is incredible (especially at sunset) and the location is peaceful. All of the rooms had clean linen and towels and the kitchen was well stocked in terms of cutlery, glasses, serving bowls, etc. We really enjoyed our stay at Suidersee Voelklip and appreciate the attention paid to making guests feel at home.

Although a minor inconvenience, we could not seem to find a broom at the property! It would be helpful for guests to have access to a broom and pan to do some minor cleaning during their stay if they wanted to. Our biggest struggle was with the company that manages the property booking - HostAgents. Regrettably, their communication with us was subpar, frequently taking up to 10 days to respond to our emails, necessitating follow-up emails from our end. As a rental management company, prioritizing clear and timely communication with customers should be a top priority. Four days before our trip, they provided us with the wrong property manager's information, causing us to contact the wrong person about check-in arrangements. Upon raising the issue, they offered excuses rather than simply apologising for the inconvenience. Overall, our stay at Suidersee was wonderful, but it's unfortunate that the booking process was challenging.

The view and the lay-out of the property with everything required to cook or braai.

The premises was dirty and there is a lot of ingrained dirt, especially on the floors. The corners of Every room was covered in spider webs indicating that it had not had a thorough clean for a long time. The rooms were very hot at night and we could not leave the doors open because of all the insects.

Amazing view, great location, nice space for a large group.

Garden was not safe for kids, microwave was dirty, fire place didn’t work properly.

The home was kitted with things for entertainment like table tennis, cricket etc. There was ample space to sit comfortably The fire place is a bonus for winter. The kitchen is fully equipped Overall it is a beautiful home for a great getaway!

The only thing to not like is the house next door that blocks the stunning view of the ocean. (p.s. Not a dislike but just a side note: one of the photos was a little deceiving. It seemed as though there would be a balcony but it's just the lighting in the picture)

What can I say first the hostess Dalien she is a darling very kind and sweet, everything that was advertised we got it, we enjoyed the fireplace it kept us warm and the entertainment area is huge and the view is spectacular we had a Seaview and mountain view which we enjoyed, overall the establishment was top notch I will give it 10/10
