Capricorn Restcamp

Excellent value for money, and exceeded our expectations. This is rustic overnight accommodation, but the host, Karsten, went out of his way to assist us with everything we needed, including helping us with a slow puncture we had developed on one of our tyres. With an extra charge and 48 hour advance pre-arrangement, Karsten also cooked us a lovely dinner meal on his fascinating solar cooking equipment. We spent 2 nights here, with a day-trip to Sossusvlei in between. This property is all about sustainable resources, which suited us well. We would love to return here when there is less moonlight to experience a "retreat" and enjoy the beauty of the night sky unspoiled by ambient city lights.

Im Capricorn Restcamp zu übernachten ist ein bisschen so, als würde man einen alten Bekannten besuchen. Man wird ungeheuer herzlich empfangen, bekommt hilfreiche Tipps, wird bestens mit leckeren Essen am großen Tisch versorgt und erlebt einen Gastgeber, der seinen Gästen einen tollen Einblick in das Leben in Namibia gewährt. Wir hatten wundervolle Tage! Vielen Dank!

Una acollida excelent per part d’en Karsteen a un entorn remot i molt especial. El cel estrellat quedarà molt temps a la nostra memòria. L’amfitrió ens va preparar un sopar exquisit en una cuina solar. El sopar compartit amb en Karsteen va ser memorable. Els bungalows són totalment sostenibles. Un projecte vital digne de conèixer.

Limits of the roads wit stones which make the roads narrow

The location was convenient to break up the journey. The rest camp allowed our pets to stay.

It was very cold and not a comfortable night's sleep. We could have used more gas in the header, more mats on the floor, and more blankets. This accommodation would do well with a little self-catering station (microwave, a pot or pan).

We were late for reaching the camp that we originally booked near Sossusvlei and Capricorn Camp was a lifesaver. Karsten responded quickly to our last-minute booking. He came and showed us around. It was very nice to stay in this cozy place after a long journey. There is a gas heater, warm blankets, place for making a fire, a spacious shower. Towels and bedding are provided. And of course, countless stars above the property are just magical 🤩 In the morning, we had some issues with a tire compressor and Karsten and his helper were quick to come and offer help and advice. Thank you once again Karsten!
